| Post subject: | Peacocking with a cowboy hat |
Okay, so I've recently bought this cowboy hat which I think looks pretty cool, no one around here wears them so I definitely get people looking at me walking down the street. I'm off to a club with some friends on Saturday where I'm planning to practice Game by opening up sets etc.. and I'm going to be wearing my cowboy hat to hook girls in with, my question is, how do you handle an AMOTG when he takes your hat? Or what if I'm walking through the club with this girl, and some random guy takes my hat, how would I go about handling that? |

If he takes your hat that goes beyond AMOG, that's just disrespectful. I know it's not the proper advice, but if somebody grabbed my hat I'd give him about 5 seconds to give it back before I punched him. That aside, when your peacocking draws jokes and criticism from other dudes, your best bet is to come up with funny comebacks as opposed to just calling the guy a douche bag and saying it's a cool hat. I don't know of any particular ones for that, but I remember one Mystery used for wearing goggles that when like this: AMOG: Why are you wearing fuckin goggles? Mystery: (lowers goggles over his eyes) In case you keep spitting when you talk to me. And it may take time, because you'll need a few. The goal with any of these comebacks is to avoid starting an argument, once you make your comment you walk away and be mature about it. Let him look dumb for a minute, because nobody likes a guy who's instigating fights. |

Yeah haha, I'd definitely like to avoid getting into a fight to be honest, getting into a fight over a hat would be quite a stupid thing to do. I'm fully prepared for insults on my peacocking clothes, names have never bothered me. It's just some guys around here would go as far as taking a hat off of a complete stranger.

You overthink too much, nothing happened yet and already you are planning for what to do, yes be prepared but you cannot be prepared for anythingI'm off to a club with some friends on Saturday where I'm planning to practice Game by opening up sets etc.. and I'm going to be wearing my cowboy hat to hook girls in with, my question is, how do you handle an AMOTG when he takes your hat? Or what if I'm walking through the club with this girl, and some random guy takes my hat, how would I go about handling that? Just go out first |

you can say something like, "it looks better on me" then take it back. another thing to say (this one is great) is: "you will need more then this hat to impress these girls..". good luck. |

Remember that a peacock item is an amplification tool. If someone does still your hat or makes a remark how you deal with it will be doubley effective. Make sure your not that odd guy with the cowboy hat, and instead you are that interesting guy with the cowboy hat. As long as you act like its natural to you the hat and not just a gimmick people wont steal it. You wouldnt steal someones cap if they were wearing it in a club. Act like you always wear it and it will get you off to a flying start. |

When I go out peacocking in my cowboy hat (Sussex). People trying it on is part of the power of the hat. DON'T get uptight about it, just smile. and Look mock confused, move the hat slightly, stand back and give thumbs up or Say "nah, it looks better on me" or Dance with them or whatever feels right When I peacock I like to be the best fun guy in the room This encourages people (girls) to try the hat on, or for you to put the hat on them at the end of the night girls are all grabbing the hat, fighting for attention from Hat guy a FR of a Hat night out [/url]first-night-as-a-peacock-vt66686.html?highlight= Scamp |

Thanks guys, the hat was a hit tonight at the house party I went to, I put it on this random girl and asked her to look after it then walked away to rejoin my friends, a few minutes later I saw it on a different guy, whenever I looked it was on someone else. Eventually I got it back, but it was certainly doing the rounds and when I did get it back, girls kept asking for it. |
