Post subject:  Fashion question - tucking in the shirt

I've been doing a lot of reading regarding how to dress yourself when going out, and I see a lot of people writing that girls look for things like whether or not you understand coordination, for example (and the basis of my question) do your shoes match your belt.

I have always made sure my shoes match my belt, but the issue I have with this is that you have to be wearing your shirt tucked in to show this.

My question is this: Do you tuck in your shirt before going out? Is it situational? I find if I'm wearing something like a nice button down (I know, I know, me and everyone else in the world) and classy jeans I obviously won't tuck in my shirt. I'm having a lot of trouble standing out in the way I dress (really not comfortable with peacocking just yet) and I can't afford to go all out Barney Stinson and suit up every time I go out.

So yeah - do you design your outfits for a tucked in shirt or let loose?

i definately dislike having my shirt tucked in, so I never do...

and in terms of your belt issue, my belt just barely misses fitting into the second belt loop so it ends up falling down all the time and showing a bit anyway, but its also a belt that works like that lol

There are times when I tuck my shirt, but I always have my sleeves rolled up.

These times include:

- When I wear a suit (obviously)
- When I wear a tie (which rarely happens)
- Fine dinners/parties

I used to do it all the time, mainly to show off my belt and... it works, but I've grown to prefer my shirt out of my pants.

If you stuff your pants with your shirt there won't be much room left for the ladies.

I only tuck my shirt when I'm in uniform and required to...never otherwise.

me pesonally I think matching is overrated but DON'T be a jerk and wear red jeans with a yellow shirt, something cool and simple.

don't tuck your shirt in to show your belt, sag your pants. I do 8)

i tuck my shirt in and top button done up. I wear a dark belt but NEVER match it to my shoes. If girls see this its obvious your trying to hard, i was at a club with some friends and we saw some guy in a green belt and then green shoes. We just though "wtf is he doing" he came to talk to one of my friends (super hot) and she was like "no way matchy matchy" i feel its more of a comfort zone though, i always try look smart and the old 1960s mod fashion is making a comeback so try looking about. for fashion advice try websites like

topman

or

asos

they both have "latest trends" section what is up too date with all of the latest up and coming fashion

hope i could help.

Depends on what you are wearing. But its a good question as your belt or buckle can be part of peacocking. I tend to just tuck a bit in. I wear t shirts and they seem to all JUST oerhang a bit, so i tuck a bit in. But try and make it like your no trying to show of the buckle as such.
