| Post subject: | Making relationships more exciting |
Hi guys, I need some advice on how to keep the spark and excitement going in my relationship with my girlfriend of 6 months. I’ll try to keep it as short as possible so please be patient with me. We live roughly about 2 hours apart and we only get to see each other on the weekends due to work commitments. We can’t see each other every weekend due to travel costs and on some weekends she has to help out at her parents’ restaurant when they are short of staff. We have a great time whenever we are together and we have a lot in common, I really enjoy her company. The problem is when we are apart. I’m getting bored of having a relationship based on my phone and computer (I want to make it clear that I’m not bored of her). We don’t speak to each other every day and I prefer it this way because I don’t want us ringing each other and have nothing to say. We do text every day and it’s her who usually initiates, I reply to most of her texts but when I’ve nothing to say I don’t reply back until I’ve something exciting to say to her. I’ve tried to keep things exciting by texting her naughty texts and some” interesting pictures” they all seem to work well but I don’t want to keep sending them to her. I’m looking for ideas on how to keep things exciting, I love this girl and I want to keep things exciting. Thanks guys |

Well i think you're doing the right thing by not turning into a little puppy dog and responding to EVERY text and calling every 5 minutes. I have had two long relationships with one similar-ish to this. The difference was i got to your stage and ramped up the contact...but that set a bad precedent that puts her in the driving seat. My only real advice is to continue as you are, but maybe once in a while have a mid week meet up, just to break the routine. Also when you do see her try to make sure you're on form and keep the energy/excitment up. Doesn't mean you need to be skydiving into her garden or anything, just avoid arriving with no plan, no energy and watching TV all weekend just stopping for sex. It'll become a routine and routines ruts suck! |

Thanks for the advice I appreciate it. We can only see eachother on Sundays due to work commitments, we spend the whole day together until one of us has to leave. I don't have a problem keeping things exciting when we are together, I plan dates that are different although we do go for meals and watch movies. For example when we cooking a meal together, I'd be in charge of the main course and she'd be charge of the starters. We have gone fishing together, gone to the zoo and even clothes shopping challenges (we have an hour each going around shopping malls/centres by ourselves with a spending limit. Its great fun especially if you put a good amount of thought into it). Things listed above she has never done with the exs. I've other date ideas such as hot air baloon rides, theme parks, horse riding, hiking and canoeing.I have had two long relationships with one similar-ish to this. She's not the one with this problem, I'm the one who sometimes find texting boring, I'm basically saying it's like I'm having a relationship with my phone and not her. |

Sounds fine, bro. Don't sound like got a problem here. As long as you can turn her on when needed. Things should be fine. As long as you aint arguing, and conversations are still fun and playful, shit is all good. |
