Post subject:  Email only

Long story short: I met a girl during day game, established a good connection, successfully built sexual-tension loops, broke rapport and she quickly reinitiated, naturally worked in some kino -- so, all signs were very strong. Then I proposed a date and she said yes, but she wouldn't give me her #, only her email address, saying it's her policy. I held my frame well, but I'm wondering if you have suggestions of good responses if a girl wants to give you only her email.

Peace,

Ciornia

Email has advantages, you can sit there and construct a perfect message DHVing yourself and whatever other thousand acronyms you use to make yourself look good.

Personally about the email....I think its a bit wierd but I know girls that do that to filter out the 'freaks', its better them emailing her opposed to calling and texting every 5 minutes right?
as soon as she realises your not 'one of them' I can only assume you will get the # close
good luck

Thanks, Jish. I think you're right; email definitely has its pluses, and I'm good at crafting a solid message. So I'm not concerned. Any thoughts, though, on how to reply in the moment when she says she's giving you just her e-m address? (I smirked, gave her a sidelong glance, and said, "No -- don't tell me the phone company cut you off because you didn't pay your bill!")

The key is to answer the metalanguage/her frame/the underlying meaning of the interaction.

So it might have been a shit test, but by the sounds of what you say, she was probably being genuine.

I would just have happily accepted it and complimented her on such a policy in a manner that would also prompt her to give you more info about why she uses it.

Sounds to me from your response that you were a bit defensive - not that it looks like that'll make much of a difference to your pickup :D.

You're right, Rafiel, that my interior monologue was definitely saying, "Huh?!" :) But I hope my voice tonality and body language appeared unfazed. In any case, your point about happy acceptance as a way to gain greater insight into her is also right on target. Thanks, man.

x,
