Heey guys, I'm new to this forum. I'm from the Netherlands so my English won't be perfect;) sorry for that. Yesterday I got into some bad situation. I hope you can help me out. Here's the story. I went to the city centre for a beer with some friends. We just had band practice so we had our guitars with us. At the bar, there seemed to be some kind of beer festival. (witch means a lot of drunk people:P) At a moment a exceptional (but beautiful) girl passed by. As she passed by of a second time I approached her and we had a little talk. (oke, this was one of my first approaches. I was quite surprised it worked and was kind of proud I finally dared to speak to some strange girl) Then she went back to her friends, and so did I) (Fail, but hey, for a first attempt. Later that evening I searched for someone to give me a cigarette and the girl was outside, smoking. She gave me a cigarette but she didn't had a light so I should get a light at her friends. And then things went bad. She pulled me to her friends end asked for a light. One of the guys, who were drunk, mediately grabbed my arm, broke my cigarette and started shouting. The next moment I was surrounded by 5 drunk and aggressive gorillas. (wtf happened:S) Finally I got out unharmed, bot wow, they scared the hell out of me Now my question is: "Does any of you know how you should act in such a situation? " The girl was still there so if you flee right away she would see that as being weak? On the other hand. Staying around and getting kicked doesn't seem a good idea either;) Hope you can give some advise Incognitom |

Kind of a difficult situation... If you don't want to get your ass kicked but still wanna keep the girl... Well it might be possible might not. Sometimes things just go shitty like that. Were the drunk guys the girl's friends? If not, the best move I can think of is keeping your cool (they're probably more bark than bite, and leaving will satisfy them.) Get a sort of annoyed or exasperated expression on your face. And lead the HB away saying something along the lines of "okay... let's ditch this scene or something like that." Basically, be leaving not because you're scared of them, but because you don't feel like being around some annoying drunks. But I dunno, there's a lot that can go wrong here. If it were me I might be apt to call it a loss. Anyone with more experience got some input here? |

Thnx. That seems quite logical. But "keeping your cool" seems a bit hard in such a situation Yes those guys were friends of her. Although I really can't understand why. By bizarre coincidence I met the female friend this morning at the train station. She apologized for the other night, that is wasn't my fault ect. She also told the HB was beaten because she plead for my cause :S Nice friends!! Anyway, I was wondering if there is some sort of technique to calm such people down. (Some of the pick up techniques are also appropriate in other situations and work on men as well. right?) Incognitom |

On your own against 5 guys, drunk could be difficult, you could say to her, are they always like this? Or involve them with an opinion routine. |
