| Post subject: | Physical Confrontations? |
So I was talking to my friend Me: "I think it would be cool to bring a girl to a [college] party." Friend: "That's a terrible idea, trust me." Me: "Why?" Friend: "I did it once. I brought some girl I was sarging to a party, but there's so many other horny guys there too. So...yeah." Me: "You lost her?" Friend: "Well, there was this guy, and he just wouldn't let her go. Like, physically. I think she got kinda weirded out by it, but I couldn't get him to let go of his grasp." Me: "Did you kick his ass?" Friend: "Well...I couldn't. So after about 15 minutes of trying, I just kinda gave up and left." Me: "Even though you could tell she wasn't enjoying his 'strategy'?" Friend: "Yeah." I thought this was pretty ridiculous at first, and I rather rudely laughed my ass off. But it got me thinking about a few things. 1. Is it a bad idea to bring a newly sarged girl to a college (or non college) drinking environment if you did not find her in one? 2. Should you enter a physical altercation at a party? It seems like it would scare people off, especially the target. Would it look beta? (I think not regarding this case, but when is it acceptable?) 3. Should PUAs learn martial arts or work out? It seems like the obvious answer is "yes", but this guy's flimsy and it would require a LOT of work (he's the dancing, musical singing kind of guy). Besides, some PUAs look small and physically defenseless (like Style). Would a sharp wit compensate? Any thoughts on the matter would be appreciated. Feel free to contribute. |

well, its fine to take a new girl partying. and its fine to get in a physical confrontation if its obvious she's in discomfort, and definitely don't do what that guy did and abandon her after you can tell she needs help |

I think everyone should do martial arts. It improves your strength, posture, self confidence, and mindset.BTW, I'm the smallest guy in my karate class, but all the guys (even the black belts) are scared to fight me, they tell me I move too fast. Always play to your strengths, a small guy can jump in and out of a big guy's guard in the blink of an eye, and it only takes one punch to the solar plexus to knock the breath out of anyone. EDIT: I'm new to the PUA scene so I can't help you with the other stuff, but I can tell you that of all the things that make me nervous, confronting another guy is not one of them. I can look any man in the eye without feeling threatened, and I'd laugh if a drunk idiot tried to intimidate me. |

yes learn to fight, but you rarley need to use it, take a target to a party, you need to be secure enough to not think some random guy can steal her from you, if he can...somethings wrong. As far as geting confrontational...wtf, why would u hit a guy because hes trying to get with your girl, that is one of the most insecure things. Use your words, AMOG the shit out of the guy, if he gets physical, defend yourself...only fight to defend yourself. |

Oh, sure, it's not about actually using fighting techniques. The fact that you CAN win the fight gives you an air of confidence that demoralizes the other guy, thus avoiding the fight in the first place. |

bitches don't know nothing about my tan belt. and about fighting dirty, America's most honorable warriors (United States Marines) are taught how to properly eye gouge. |

Just with regards to the physical confrontation part I'd like to say learning self defence is aways a great thing to do as stated above for mindset and confidence etc ...but, although I hold a Black belt in karate, and I enjoy it immensely, I have to say it isn't as effective as you would think, I would much recommend Ju Jitsu, Boxing ot a Mixed Martial Arts class to give you the most effective form of self defence. |

or, even more effective, find a former MCMAP instructor. MCMAP is the only modern Martial Arts still used in a struggle of life or death. |

Krav Maga is another quite formidable system, as are the various forms of Filipino Martial Arts, but he's probably not looking to severely injure someone--a limitation I've noticed with Escrima. I've only been in one fight in my adult life--attacked by 4 drunk guys while I was walking to my car--really all the other ones I've avoided by, as far as I can tell, just not getting into the frame of people trying to provoke a fight. I think that if AMOGing the guy doesn't work, it would be reasonable to use force if the guy is making the girl uncomfortable, and refusing lesser methods. Jiu Jitsu, Sambo, Hapkido and the like are probably more usable without making a scene, albeit perhaps a bit less effective if in a real life or death situation. |

I would highly recommend for anyone to take martial arts as it is a great way to keep in shape and be able to defend your self or whoever is with you. Did your friends girl ask him to help her? Some girls are just like that and pretend they dont like something but actually do. And also its a good idea to roll to a party like 5 people deep. Most of the college parties i went to ended up with a fight because dudes get jealous when you take attention of all the women lol. |
