Sorry for the copy pasta Ok first off I am 19 years old (remember this because it will be important later) I met this girl at an event, its kind of a supervised with the family type event (a youth gathering, I wouldnt go into so much detail) she is really cool and all. We did not talk that well except that I asked her why isnt she on the dance floor and introduced myself and later on I asked her for her number after I saw the signals (fixing/playing of hair, dilated pupils etc.) I told her "I don't usually ask for a random girl's number like this, but I have a feeling I would regret it if I don't ask for yours" she smiled and gave me her number (I got her number less than 10 minutes of meeting her, new personal best) And since its a youth-event-with-the-family type of thing she thought it was a good idea to introduce me to her Mom O_O which was cool and I would say I handled it pretty well since she mentioned something about inviting her and her daughter again if our Chapter will decide to make an event. There isnt much trouble until I found out she is like 16 or 17 O_O now I am deep doo doo good thing she is grounded off her phone until Monday (she told me this so I can call her then) giving me time to post this and ask some of my friends for an advice. What should I do in this situation, I obviously can't date her, and I know she will be expecting the call tomorrow. Should I just not call or text her in general? It does not help that her Mom knows that I am 19 too lol (although she is pretty ok with it, methinks) But still below 18 and I am going to jail.....I need help! OMG! Edit: I am not even sure if I should not call her anymore, mainly because I might see her again in future events of my organization, FML |

there's nothing wrong with a 19 year old going out with a 16 or 17 year old. i had a 16 y/o girlfriend when i was 20. why would you go to jail? even if you live in a country where the legal age age of consent is 18, you still haven't done anything except get a number. chill out. if she's legal, call her back. if not, forget about it. |

chill out. if she's legal, call her back. if not, forget about it. Soooooo you are saying I should not even call her or anything? That seems kinda, bad lol I just dont know what to do/say to her rofl |

Man I am not gonna tell you to break the law or anything. But, it is not illegal to date a girl thats under 18 years old. You barely broke the 18 limit yourself. It is illegal to take sexual advantage of her definately. SO dont do that! Basically its up to her to call the cops on you right. Still, do not take sexual advantage of her, that is illegal! |

it all depends on how YOU feel about it, i always say" if there's grass on the field play ball" but if her age weirds you out than cut her loose. most of my friends who are girls date older guys so i dont think its too bad, and whats 3 years? |

Check the legal age of content in your state before you make a hasty decision. Everyone assumes it's 18 everywhere, but a lot of the states are 16 and 17. I know here in Texas it's 17. |

Ok its 16 in my state, but still....How should I cut her loose then? Just dont call her? I am just thinking its kinda messed up just leaving her hangin' like that..... What do I do? |

Yeah I will be 20 this August and she will 17 this December...most of my friends who are girls date older guys so i dont think its too bad, and whats 3 years? I dont know why but it kinda looks bad if a High School girl is going out with someone who is already done with High School....idk why |
