Post subject:  Question about number close

Just had a question about #closes. A lot of girls say that they don't want to give out their number to random guys they meet. They sometimes want your number instead. Is this a bad signal? Should I just move on once this happens?

Actually many girls give theirs numbers out, they just don't pick up the phone. If you asked a girl for her number she could say no and the situation will be awkward or give you her number and not just pick up.

If a girl asks you for your number I think that would be a bad sign, she'll never take the initiative to call you. It's not always a bad sign though, but most likely it is.

Up to you if you want to move on, I say get her number instead when she asks you for hers.

Thanks for the input. I made this post because I was having this discussion with a friend. I said its a negative sign if she doesn't want to give your her number. It kinda feels like she doesn't trust you enough or sees you as just another guy in the club. Therefore your value is decreased as soon as you give that number to her. Even if she does call you she will automatically think less of you.
My friend's take on it is that its basically a win-win wheres as if you just let her go your hard work is gone to waste.

I've been working in sales for a few years, and out of hundreds of numbers I gave ppl called me twice, to cancel...

same thing, if they don't want to give their number but "u can give them yours" they're doing it to be polite... she will most likely won't call, if she asks for you're number thats good

Okay I agree if she initiates a number close with you then in that case it can be taken as a good sign. I also think the same way, if she says she will call you its being polite. Has anyone had success with the girl that called instead of you?

This is a bad sign. Try and work through this and get her number even if she says she want's yours. Really up your arrogance at this point. She'll never call you if you give yours. I wouldn't even bother.

that's not entirely true, girls have asked for y number before and called me, I'm just saying that she might ask for youre number coz she wants it. But most cases it's just her being polite.

Think what a hassle it is for a girl to give her number to any jerk that asks for it, no matter how nice he could have been

Obviously it's better for you to take it, but theres nothing wrong in giving it too

Here are two different scenarios:

1) She's been speaking to you and asks for your number first, then she's probably showing interest. This sort of happened when I told a girl to add me on Facebook, she then asked me for my e-mail so it'd be easier for her to find me. That is a sign of interest.

2) The second one is where you've spoken to a girl and then you ask her for her number or her Facebook. She then refuses and says "Instead, why don't you give me YOUR number/e-mail/facebook then I'll add you." Thats a sign of disinterest.

Can't put it any clearer than that.
