Post subject:  Girl can't make up her mind...

Hey all, I'm going to try and make this as short as possible, since it's already a ridiculously long story.

I first k-closed (and some) the girl - HB9, 23 (I'm 21), is sister of my best female friend, almost done with her college education, leaves the country in 3 months or so - on New Years eve, then, with the help from people here, managed to get an f-close around the end of january. I went away for a holiday, and she was definitely into seeing me when I got back. She texted me a saturday night about coming to sleep at my place, which wasn't possible, and this is where things started to go sour: The next day, I texted her, trying to set up an informal datish-thing, she went along with it, yet cancelled shortly before it, with the excuse that she "wanted to talk to her sister first". Some time passed, I didn't talk much to her, yet would see her once in a while when visiting her sister - at those meetings, I'd joke around with her, there wasn't any awkwardness etc, but anyway, after a while (this is around the middle of March now), I got another date with her, which again she cancelled with some lame excuse. I told her that she was confusing, and that it's lame to cancel off like that. She replied that she was indeed confused, but thought that I am "amazing", I told her not to be so worried and serious about it all, and that we should just meet and talk a bit about things. She was really positive about this, and we agreed on a day.

You guessed it. Bitch cancels again, the text-convo went roughly like this: "Hey, I think you should come over to my place [we had agreed on mine - she lives with her sister] and just chill with me and my sister, my gut feeling says its best if we just stay friends", to which I replied "Yeah, I think you're right about that. I got some other stuff to do for tonight tho, be well."[The last "be well" thing is kind of intranslationable from my native language, it basically implied that she should have a nice future, cause we weren't gonna see much to eachother anymore]. She replied that she was really sorry, that I'm a fantastic person and that of course we should go on seeing. I didn't reply, and decided just to ignore her.

Now, I visited her sister - my good friend - last night with a friend, the four of us just hung out, I joked with her a bit, but no chance of any kino or shit like that. I have no idea what to do to get this girl. I have a very distinct feeling (and she has told me this, actually) that if I could just get to see her without her sister or other people around, it would work out perfectly. For some reason (maybe this), it seems she's afraid of hanging out with just me. So, the problems:

I'm pissed about the way she handled cancelling the dates, and don't want to seem needy trying to initiate again.

She's afraid/holding back because of something, whether it's her sister, her finishing college and leaving for Australia soon, another guy, the fact that we're different religions (she's muslim, I'm christian, although she's rather unorthodox - she did get drunk and went home with me some thursday night going out), whether she's just not that attracted, or if it's just a combination of those.

Whatever it is, I can't see no way out of this catch-22 where neither of us will initiate - Also, just ignoring her is going to be almost impossible, since I don't want to screw up my friendship with her sister over this, and so will probably be running into her from time to time.

Any advice at all is really appreciated. Thanks for reading.

A freezeout would be best but since you cant do that: You need to act like youre totally cool with just being friends...run jealousy plots and utilize take aways. Flirt with her every so often...act like you moved on at first but game her when you finally see her alone in person....dont push for this alone time she needs to want it.

to be honest: sounds like oneitis and far too complicated..i mean, she will be gone in 3 months, do you think it will get less complicated after that??

Just be her friend. Don't ignore her, don't pursue a romantic connection with her. Would you do that with your friends? Sometimes I think we pigeonhold every single girl we meet into a romantic relationship. I think girls that are ACTUALLY your friend are a really good think. I can't tell you how many girls were my friends and then turned into my fuck buddies because neither of us wanted a relationship.

Thanks for the answers guys. I think you're right. I have a small, very concrete question; she works in a perfume/deoderant shop, and I gotta get my brother a gift for his birthday and was thinking about buying it there. Should I:

A. Text her something funny and meet her there when she's at work.

B. Just show up and hope that she's there, but act like it's random and you didn't think about it.

C. Get it from another store.

Or maybe D. Text her something funny and set up a "date" there, then not show up.
