| Post subject: | Transistioning into Stories |
Hey everyone, Im having a little trouble not sounding weird or awkward in sets. Basically, opening a set with a story and transistioning from one conversation thread to another is a little rocky for me. I have been reading the mystery method and picked up a lot of stories/openers from there. How do you guys get into your stories though? For instance, I use the Maury Povich opener a lot of the time. But when I just walk up to a group of girls and ask them something as random as that, I look weird and entirely random. What are some ways to transistion to a stories that convey you as an interesting person and what not. I have a hard time easing into a story about how I met a bear camping when I am in the middle of a bar with loud music. |

Transitions. That's what its all about. Like how you transition from one paragraph to another when writing a paper. Generally, you want to use an opener that pertains to the situation and if it's a question it has to be one that you actually want to know the answer to. Act like it just crossed your mind and you had to ask some1 about it. If you don't make a direct approach (IE walking str8 to the set) it makes it a lot easier. Transitioning to stories is fairly simple. You can say something like "Oh my god, that reminds me of the time when ______" Just customize it to the situation. |
