| Post subject: | "Get out of here, nobody likes you" from a male |
I was here with a group of people that I know, I do not call them friends since I have very specific definition for the word friend. Anyways, I was just saying hi and trying to get to know them a little more. One of them was playing a online game call Counter-Strike. I watched a little and said, "man, you are getting your ass kicked". Then he replied "Get out of here, nobody likes you" then walked off with a smile on his face. He did sound like he was joking, and I was sure that I sounded like I was joking too. I mentioned this to one of my friends who is also into the PUA thing. He said that I should have responded with something because I need to mentally train myself to be this alpha male whenever I am with a group of people, even if there is no girls there until it becomes my instinct. I am not sure if my friend there is correct, but if he is, what would be the appropriate response in a situation like this? |

Sarcasticly "yah thats why everyone likes you" or sarcasticly "you are so cool... do you want to be my friend?" something like that just to show it doesnt affect you what he said but he looks like a little dummy for commenting you that way |

Words do not make an alpha. In fact, there is no reason to respond verbally to what was said. This is my personal theory. What it comes down to is who can kick whos ass. It doesn't mean you SHOULD use violence, but you do need to be willing to fight to be an alpha. However, once you know you can kick their ass it is rarely necessary. Keeping that in mind, Alphas use Kinesics ( body language ) to dominate their environment. In a one-on-one setting simply stand your ground and prepare to get physical. Do not say a word. In a group setting, ignore them completely. Again, do not say a word to them. Eventually they will conform to the group and fall into place under you and you can then engage them in the conversation. An example of the alpha mentality comes from my son. I used to punk my son because he is a Metro-sexual. One thing I would punk him on is chick flicks he would watch. Years go on and he discovers that one of my favorite movies is "The Notebook". He proceeds to punk me as hard as he can about it. I just responded with a slight smile. After about 5 minutes he says "Well that sucks". I ask why and he tells me he got no satisfaction from punking me about it. I explained to him that's because I don't give a shit what others thinks. A real man is secure ( among others things ). This is exactly the frame of mind you should be in when you approach a set. Ultimately few things are of real consequence in life. I tend to look at everything as if it were years in the future and I am on my death bed. Alphas do not have regret. We learn and grow stronger still. A quote from "The Replacements" says it all: Pain heals, Chicks dig scars... Glory lasts forever. Byron |

While this may be true you are injecting no emotional value into the interaction by doing what you did. This is my personal theory. What it comes down to is who can kick whos ass. Byron When people initiate banter with me even if I could care less about what they say, ideally I like to have a fun comeback because it adds to the value and the vibe of the situation rather than just shrugging and walking off or having nothing to say. As for my response it would be "That's not what your Mom said" |

As for my response it would be "That's not what your Mom said" The drawback here is if they say something like: My mom is dead or something like that. haha. If they take it the wrong way and they don't say something like that then just say your sorry then ask them if they need a hug. |

Insecure gamer kid. Immature too. Should have said "What? I'll clock you in the face motherfucker!"Quote: I mentioned this to one of my friends who is also into the PUA thing. You don't need to mentally train anything. If someone sasses you, confront. Put him in place. Simple as that. Don't be the alpha male, be the alpha YOU. Quote: I am not sure if my friend there is correct, but if he is, what would be the appropriate response in a situation like this?
You're friend doesn't know what he's talking about. He doesn't know YOU.In any given social situation, you need to expect threats. Some guy will sass you. Some girl will sass you. You will be sassed, or threatened, or even touched the wrong way. If someone violates YOU, and it makes YOU feel bad, make them pay. They violated YOU as a person. They made an attack on YOUR SELF. Not yourself, your_self. Your, then space, then self. Yourself, without space, is YOU in YOUR entirety. Your_Self is what makes YOU...YOU. It's the other half of your being. It's YOU, YOURSELF, AND YOU. Id, Ego, Superego. Who you are by nature, who you've become through time, and what you try to become from influence. YOU...control YOU. ...ok, so if someone offends YOU, he's saying "Your nature is wrong, you're upbringing is wrong, and what you strive for is wrong. Fuck YOU and what you represent, and let's see what YOU'RE gonna do against ME! Fight or flee bro. Survive or die. Replicate or weed out. |

Thanks for all your input. ByronZ, I totally understand where you are coming from but I agree with Pimpin aint easy though I probably will not use that kind of response. I do not know about you guys but that sounds like a road leading to a fight to me. |

My favorite response to this is "That's alright, I like myself enough to compensate." People will immediately think "Hey, I like him!" when they hear the obstacle test you. You don't need to prove yourself to them. You just need to keep the obstacle from establishing dominance.[/b] |

"Momma always said if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all." ~Forrest Gump If you're trying to make friends, you're probably getting off on the wrong foot. Even if you're not trying to make friends, why did you say that? It's not your job to criticize the guy. Sounds like it's uncalled for. |

There's is nothing wrong with some smartass banter, but violence is for children and third world countries. Leave the tough guy attitude at home, it never impresses anyone. |

Read stormy's post on inner game (too lazy to make link). If you want to truly defeat this alpha male the best thing that you can do is ignore him. If you say some witty remark, the fact that you spent the time to think of that remark grants social power to the alpha, and implies that you were affected by his comment and therefore inferior. If you can laugh it off and control your words, and your body language to show that his comment did not affect you whatsoever, you will have crushed him. Honestly, even better than faking is actually not caring what he said, do you really care what some gamer idiot thinks?. In the end the pickup concept that whoever has the strongest reality sets the reality for the group wins out here: if you believe more strongly that his comment didn't affect you than he believes it did affect you than to everyone in the room the comment will not have affected you. Sorry for the long post, Fiery. |

So you commented negatively on his game and he responded in the same fashion. Are you surprised? Remember that every time you set out to be the alpha male you challenge everybody else who also wants to be the alpha male. Every time you say something to someone you risk getting a response you dont want. Why not just deal with it. He was rude, so what. He is also a counterstrike nerd. Who the hell cares about what he and his colection of playboy magazines think about anything. Im more surprised that you even spoke to him, there was no need for it. This was not in a bar right or he wouldnt have played counterstrike. His comment is not even worth a reply, just forget you even spoke to him and get out of that sad place and find a place with girls instead of a gamers convention with guys or at least people with nearly male genitalia...
