The truth of the matter is, media has a big affect and influence in today's society. Most people are followers and few are leaders. Since we know better about certain things in life, all we can do is help those around us for the better.

However, if you take the time to look on the bright side of this whole ordeal, this movie may give AFC's more confidence to be... well... AFC's. Once they realize that their lifestyle isn't working and that movies do not represent real life, they will come here and we can help them. Otherwise, there's nothing we can do.

PS Congrats Vegas on your being in a movie, maybe you'll be the next Brad Pitt, he started off as an extra too.

I understand, and all I'm saying is that there's nothing you can do about it, so why worry about it? Its just another game we have to play on our journey known as life. It's not gonna change, so why worry about it?

I saw a commercial for this and kinda got concerned and a bit mad after studying pickup for the time that I have. If you don't know the story it's about a guy who finds a cellphone for a hot girl. When they meet up the girl thanks him and asks him out. So they go on dates and all and everyone can't believe that this hot girl is actually hanging out with this nerd. In the end it just supports the social conditioning of having hot girls on a pedastal. Also this guy has no respect or confidence in himself and his ability to attract a hot girl. Any thoughts? comment?

Yea, this is a movie. I've seen the previews too. Does anybody know what happens in the end? I doubt the nerd just totally gets fucked over. Maybe he gets laid and every HB 9/10 who sees this movie will go out the next weekend and fuck some AFC. Bonus!

Dude, it's not just a movie. You don't have to post here if you don't want. It's just movies like these (and ones in the past) created this whole problem of men chasing women, nerds not being confident to approach, and so forth.

Movies like this don't affect us, they might affect AFCs though. If in the movie there is a nice nerdy guy who finally asks a girl out with his little shy voice, and the girl finally accepts and kisses him...This might influence AFCs to think this way about real life (which of course would never happen lol). It might give them false hope that being a typical "nice guy" works as sad as it is lol. The truth of the matter is, media has a big affect and influence in today's society. Yes its more than just a movie. The movie strengthens the way society feels and prevents AFC from changing their mindset of things. Who the fuck said that having good looks makes you better than someone else? Media does.

If I saw that movie in my AFC days, it would reinforce my habits and make me feel a little better about them. I'd think, "Oh, if I just keep up my gentlemanly nice-guy ways, I'll land a mega-hottie! I just need to be patient, she'll come along! How could she not? A movie said so!" This type of movie is awful for AFCs, but "good" for PUAs in the sense that it keeps the community more exclusive by locking AFCs into their ways. Girls will see this movie and it will polarize the ways HBs 1-10 think about their own value. 8-10s will see themselves as that much more of a "catch" (only making them more susceptible to a tight game, I think) and all girls lower will feel terrible- now the HB 10s are taking the nerdy guys, too!

Woot! I'm an extra in this movie haha! I have yet to see it, but the "upscale club" scene was shot in the Andy Warhol museum in Pittsburgh and I'm in the background of it. If I decide to waste money on going to see it, I'll let you know when I'm in the shot haha. Anyway, back to the topic. Dude this thread isn't about stopping anything. It's just about how media and film does have underlying social conditioning to it. It's not so much brainstorming but just conditioning. I agree 100% with Sly Wolf

Why does everyone assume that AFCs are bad? 'Once they realise that their lifestyle isn't working...' - define working. My AFC mate is going out with a 10, I have no idea how he did it but he is. Most likely his next gf won't be as stunning but still, just because he is an AFC doesn't mean he is unhappy and that he even thinks he has problems with women. Remember most people came to this community because they were below AFC, otherwise we'd have every AFC on the planet coming to forums like these. It's only the desperate or the ones who acknowledge that they can do even better that seek help from PUA.

I highly recommend anyone here getting involved as being an extra if you have any free time. It's a great opportunity to meet tons of people (as well as pocket some extra cash)! On this particular set, I met the manager of a well known local band in Pittsburgh as well as had the opportunity to jam on guitar with a few randoms who happened to bring some acoustics for entertainment during down time... which there is a LOT of. Anyways, back to the topic. It's not a matter of AFCs being "bad" per se, it's just that the media, and not just this film in particular, shapes society to such an extent. A lof of "nice guys" are led to believe that if they keep their tendencies, that one girl will just come along. I'm not saying it has never happened or can't. I've seen guys I would consider AFCs with really good looking charismatic girls. My take on this though is why would you want to sit back and wait when you can grow and learn to become assertive. Pick up is not just about getting the girl either. Keep in mind that the art of pick up is a personal growth that improve other aspects of your life as well.

We deal with things as they are not as they want them to be. I'd love it if I could get girls by buying them flowers, taking them for romantic dinners and being sweet to them. But it is never going to happen.

It's not about trying to change anything. It's just the realization and awareness of it. It's the discussion that counts. It's why pickup exists. Constant social conditioning through movies like this emasculate us by not showing how to truly attract or how a quality interaction works. Very rarely do you see films or shows that enforce what pickup suggests. Society may actually be set up to make males to fail with women, if so, why do you think it's set up in this fashion?

Movies like this are pure crap. Nothing about this movie would ever be true in the real world. A girl like that would get her phone and just be like alright good never talk to me again. Chodes don't get hot girls period. And besides, who cares what this movie does to AFCs. All it's going to do is make the women more attracted to real men. AFC go to this movie, they subconciously get the idea that a woman might just come along and like you for you, and then be attracted to you being a complete loser pussy. It's just stupid. BUT AFC's are good because they make me look 100 times better and anything that makes me look better I'm all for. Anything that helps my pussy count skyrocket I'm all for and this movie is the biggest crock of shit I've ever heard of.
