Is the ability to defend yourself, or a story about a fight you have won a good DHV?

I was out a week ago in a local club, i was dancing with my friends when some guy started backing into me, a stood by ground and the guy sorta bumped me further away, i thought it was funny at the time, then he starts backing into me again, i bump him back thinking that would be the end of it.
Seconds later, i feel two hands in my back and im sent flying across the dance floor, now this pissed me off, so i pick my self up, dust myself of, and turn around to have a word. I'm greeted with him, standing legs apart, arms out, staring directly at me, mouthing fuck off something... I get pissed and knock the guy on his ass, thing is, he was wearing a lip ring and it tore slightly, so he is covered in blood. so him and his friend leave.

First, know i am NOT proud of this. I only ever like to use the minimal force required to remove a target from becoming/being a potential threat. And a punch to the jaw is more than was required.
However, could i use this as a DHV story, if so where would i tweak it? I don't use any DHV's about fighting but wanted an opinion on if i should.

I'm still new to pickup, but for me it's worked in the past as a major DHV, if the girl knows I train MMA and muay thai. The key is not to seem like you're trying to show off. That it's truely an important part of my life and who I am. They think it's awesome that I'm passionate about something and see me as someone who can protect them. Just avoid being that meathead, douche bag who obviously tries to make his identity all about how tough he is.

Hey Double J, good question, I've thought about this sort of thing myself before.

From my experience with girls, I would say to avoid the stories about fights. In my opinion these can have the adverse effect, and can come off as bragging and acting like the tough guy. Girls do like to know that you can handle yourself, but they will be able to tell this by your confidence and alpha presence. If it comes up though, for example a girl asks you about a fight she heard about, by all means use it as a DHV spike - some girls dig the tough guy, and if they didn't like it, they probably wouldn't have asked.

Fights can flip the S attraction switch but only if they DHV like being LOM or to protect a girl's honor or something. A fight story teeters dangerously on the edge of try-hard. I'd say it's a story better delivered by your wing.

Well, i drop in that i know ju-jitsu as a DHV, and i'm fine with that. Its just to directly tell a fight story...

So as a combination of your advice. Here's where i'm at so far, ill only tell it if it comes up, and ill emphasize the fact i was with friends (woman), who felt threatened and make there protection the trigger that led to me hitting the guy.

It's one thing to be passionate about the sport of MMA, although its not that impressive these days since everyone and their pet ferret do it. However, telling stories about beating up some dude just for the sake of trying to be a tough guy isn't impressive at all.

So Martial art's are not that impressive because there over done, and fighting in general is not impressive either. In your opinion. Fair. So don't bring it up.

Oh, by the way, do you happen to take any form of martial art??? Because if everyone and there pet ferret do it, it would be somewhat hypercritical if you didn't take it, right?

girl think of this as just being irrational and chaotic, some girls might not like it, but the ones that do usually have abusive histories and parents, or some sort of trauma

it depends on the presentation of the story.

demonstrating you can protect her is good. showing that you like to beat people up is not.

the key term here would be restraint.

My drill instructor whose a black belt in MCMAP told us some stories of him getting in fights and he always followed the escalation of force.

first try to get out of the situation. then warn and try to leave the situation. then warn again. then act but only enough to get the point across. then curb stomp.

I'd be more of a hypocrite if I did take any kind of martial arts since I personally see it as just another fad.

I thought as much. You should try it. It can get you out of many tight situations that your mouth cannot.
Not that this is a shot at you, but it is funny how many times people will belittle something they have never tried for themselves. you might love it.

Giving the impression that the opponent brought it on themselves and gave you no other option is the right way to go about it, if to go about it at all. I worked out that any woman who is truly impressed by violence is not someone i would want to be around. But a woman who is impressed by knowing you can defend yourself and her is the norm.

if you have a wing and he tells this story it might be a DHV, but overall it's not
Unless you'll turn it into a funny one or somehow interesting story. I have a "fight story", I use as DHV with girls, but it's a funny situation.

and stop fighting about martial arts over the Internet, it's stupidly ironic
