Will cardio training help you to kill your approaching fear/stress? So, I am gonna write here why I think that newbie should try to do some cardio training if they have a fear approach, before going to clubs. It is well know that cardio training will help you reduce your blood pressure, and also help you having a positive thought, because of the hormones release in your body. Yeah , I know that's sounding like wtf, but people who have high blood pressure have to do sports in order to reduce their blood pressure value, and not trying to relax in front of their computer. Why ? Because when you exercises, your body cells begun to work harder, and they adapt to suck air, minerals, proteins, very easy So your heart will have to beat less frequent and with less power, because your body will consume less energy. Now, in a panic situation, if you do not have cardio training, your body will ask for more, more air and energy and because your body can't process them so easy, it will make your hear beat harder and harder. But if you have cardio training, then your heart will don't have to beat so fast. And yeah , approaching girls, is a stress situation, and I think it's better to have a 140/90 max blood pressure then having 170/120 when talking to an nice blonde.. So what do `u think? Because everybody only talks about getting familiar with rejects, and rising your self esteem , but that can take a lot of time. So why not train your heart, so you could keep your hormones under control. Also, i think that this is the best way to hide your timidity in front of girls. An 170/110 blood pressure, will surly make girls think you are AFC. And yeah that's the way girls choose men, by their stress level. So cardio training will boost your positive thoughts + help you to deal with philological stress. And you get it faster and easier. Self esteem is getting usually harder. You can’t get a high self esteem and go to pick-up girls, because some things need to happen in order to make you an HSE guy , but if you pick-up girls you get some high self esteem. |

Good post. It has sense. The thing is that if you start to work out a lil bit (20-30 mins per day) you will start to feel stronger and more confident... So working out and cardio exercises are also good for confident I suggest everyone GO FOR IT! Next to all those things you will look better physical |

The lengths people go to in order to avoid dealing with their fears never ceases to amaze me. The fear you feel is just stuff released into your bloodstream. And released from your nerve endings. Ever heard of adrenaline? No amount of cardio will change that. If a tiger comes into your gym, will you be less scared because you do cardio? NO! Stop thinking and start doing. Just freaking face your fear already, no more excuses. |

It's true your heart adapts and changes into a better functional, more efficient muscle. Also called a Sport-heart (at least, in dutch :p ). You will pump more blood (heart volume) in less beats (heart frequency). So yes, your bloodpressure will be lower then without the cardio training. BUT, fear is an emotion. It's not a physiological response. So it hasn't got much to do with blood pressure. The increased blood pressure / heart rate is just a reaction of your body when you get the emotion 'fear'. So it's not the cause, it's a reaction. Quote from wikipedia: "Fear is an emotional response to a perceived threat. It is a basic survival mechanism occurring in response to a specific stimulus, such as pain or the threat of danger. Some psychologists such as John B. Watson, Robert Plutchik, and Paul Ekman have suggested that fear is one of a small set of basic or innate emotions. This set also includes such emotions as joy, sadness, and anger. Fear should be distinguished from the related emotional state of anxiety, which typically occurs without any external threat. Additionally, fear is related to the specific behaviors of escape and avoidance, whereas anxiety is the result of threats which are perceived to be uncontrollable or unavoidable.[1] Worth noting is that fear almost always relates to future events, such as worsening of a situation, or continuation of a situation that is unacceptable. Fear could also be an instant reaction, to something presently happening." Only by facing your fears you can overcome them. When you face your fears, you will notice it's not so bad afterall. You'll see the rope does hold you when you fall, you'll see the spider doesn't bite you, you'll see the girls does actually want to talk back to you. The situation didn't worsen because of your action! So, when you face your fears and get positive results, you will eventually take away that fear. Because of the positive results, you relate your action to a good result instead of a bad one and thus you won't experience the emotion fear anymore. NAB |

Good post but I disagree, I think the only way it will help people approach girls is by them feeling "fitter" and better about their selves, meaning usually a more confident person, rather than someone who just lazes about, eats etc. Personally I use the gym 3-4 times a week and play football (soccer) I feel fit, this doesn't make me want to approach or make me feel more likely to approach women.I just feel better about myself. I guess everyone's different, but most of the time it's something to do with the persons mentality. |

i find cardio (or any lengthy exercise) clears my mind and makes me feel good (endorphines), which makes me more positive, sharp and energetic in social situations, so yes i think it will help in that respect. but no it wont remove your fear of approaching....that needs to be faced head on, simple as that mate. there is no magic cure and there never will be. |

Hmm interesting topic. I remember a time when I was going back home from a very powerful workout. I did really good but I felt very very drained. Altough I also felt immortal! My confidence was on steroids. I had the feeling that I could do anything I want! ANYTHING! |
