Post subject:  Storytelling question

Hey guys.

I'm really confused.

I've been practicing my storytelling skills recently. I started telling my stories to my friends that I usually hang out with. I did storytelling with emotion, emphasizing the major elements and words etc etc... I changed my tone of voice accordingly.

My friends didn't react to my stories well... I just wanna mention that my buds are typical AFCs, nice guys. They claimed that I "put myself in a movie" and said that my delivery was bad. Maybe they mean that I overdid it and looked like a clown.

I'm confused. I remember 2 years ago, before I knew what game was, I used to tell stories this way and I managed to capture attention real quick, and more people gathered. The people were laughing, enjoying themselves, but was this on my expense? The following days, people stopped me while I was walking just to tell them more similar stories.

I don't know guys... almost all people I know tell stories in such a boring tone that I can't really describe it how it sucks... Maybe they are jealous of my better delivery skills and wanna bring me down, so that they won't look bad? Or maybe I look like a clown and people enjoy themselves on my expense...

Usually I'm a carefree guy, I use a lot of humor, I use clever-ass jokes only on guys, the more simplistic jokes are reserved for chicks. But after I learned the game, I tuned down the humor, but my friends still accuse me of being "too much".

I don't get it... Your opinion guys?

It's hard to tell because we dont know how your storytelling is :O

But, if you deliver it too much like a story, people will sometimes feel that you exaggerate or lie.

Make a vid of a 2 minute story and post it so we can maybe point out some things!
