Post subject:  Like this text routine?
I number closed a girl at work the other day. The job is temporary and I only see her once a week so it's worth the risk. I’m a psychologist and was busting her balls about diagnosing her with ADHD because she was being fidgety. We were flirting pretty well but I waited till a little later in the day to get her phone number and my number close was weak. I was a little nervous and I'm sure she could tell. So I need a strong text routine to build back some sexual tension and set up a day 2. Here's what I have in mind:

Me: in addition to the ADHD, I’m 95% sure that you have another disorder… and it's serious
Her: What?
Me: hint: you've had it since September (this is when I started working there)
Her: I don't know, what? (or she might take a guess)
Me: Psychologist Infatuation Disorder :) ...and there's a problem
Her: What?
Me: It will only get worse, but I need to get to know you better to see if I'm interested in treating you. Tuesday works best for me.

You guys like this? Have anything to add? Or do you have any better ideas?

it sets a strong frame but, to me, it is way too cocky. If I were a chick and i'd get something like that i'd be like "cocky bastard".

hey man
i think the routine is pretty good, but its a little cocky too i do agree. maybe instead of that last sentence you could change it or add in something nice to say to her so she knows its a joke and that you are not just cocky about it. i dont know her personality so i could be wrong but i think throwing in something nice would help, casually nice. if you have anything like that in mind write it here and il give u my opinion (i text girls alottt hah)

The "text routine" itself is a D.

Are you kids high? This isn't cocky. . . Cocky would be telling the girl that he'll pick her up at 8 for a pizza and a fuck. Instead, what he did with this "text game" was to demonstrate to the girl that he's a calculating dork. No matter how she reacts, she's still thinking, "I wonder how long it took the genius to come up with that one. . . "

My initial comment has more to do with his usage of a psychological disorder for some idiotic pick up game. For that, he gets an F. Plenty of uneducated 17 year olds fling these words(because they have no idea what it means) but as a "professional psychologist", there's no excuse. Obviously, he's not a clinical psychologist but he still seems to be in a position of influence. This is ghetto, low class shit.

hey now we are all here to learn right? and ask questions and figure out what will work and what wont work. there is no need to offend someone over this, obviously any body coming to the community and getting help isnt going to be the most confident socially active human being (me being one of them). i still think it might be cocky, depending on the girl. i act differently to fit a girls personality and feedback she gives me. what would you do in this situation kasabi?

The idea is ok, but it leaves you pretty open--what if she doesn't really like you and you are basically telling her you do? What out does she have there other than a complete blow out?

If you really want to continue the ADHD thing, maybe you should go easier--so for example, text her, but kid her that you're only going to make the texts a few words long to match her attention span (and do it--would be kind of amusing). Also, how psychology-savvy is she? If she'd get it, something about transference/countertransference would be awesome--it's taboo, naughty to indulge, and allows you the opportunity to express interest in a really backhanded way (countertransference). As the target of the transference you maintain authority and high status, and you can imply she likes you and can't control it...see where I'm going?

ok, maybe a little too cocky, if you guys say so. I'm new to text game.

Just started the short text thing with her. I think this is money. Anyone else got any other suggestions to where I can take it from here? I want to build some sexual tension and set up a day 2.

:) ok how about this--go from really short texts (keep it funny so she know's you're kidding her), then something like "or maybe I just need to text you really sloooooow...." then move into "slow can be kinda sexy" etc etc. Then it becomes an anticipation game. I don't mean to slow down the rate of texts (though doing that once and saying "see? you like it" would work. I mean talk about slow things that are good things...honey dripping.blah blah you get the idea.

It seems too pre-meditated and scripted. Text routines rely on instant wit and humor, in my humble opinion.

The best text routine I've ever read, which I found here, was:

Her: So, tell me about yourself.
Him: Too cool to be described in text.
