Hey Guys,

Welcome back to another edition of The Basics,
my weekly email series where I break down areas
of the game into easily digestable and delicious
chunks of knowledge.

Today we're going to be covering the basics
of Learning Pick Up.

It's important to closely monitor your amount
of reading to field time, you want to have no less
than 2 hours in field approaching for every hour
of reading about pick up. In fact I recommend that
my long term coaching students double this amount.

You want to read to take in information and apply
it as quickly as you can to avoid information overload
and the paralysis of analysis.

If you're serious about cold approach, you need
to commit to doing a minimum of 10 approaches
a week. When I started, I was really socially
awkward and I did 50 approaches a week to
speed up my progress.

The first things you should focus on are your fashion,
grooming and body language.

After you've fixed those issues, it's time to pick an
opener off the internet or a product and start approaching
girls with it. You don't want to try a different opener until
you've used this one over 25 times.

I recommend that EVERYONE starts trying to
meet women in bars and clubs as you will have
a ton of opportunity to practice without having
to wait for sets to approach.

Don't read ANYTHING that isn't immediately
applicable. It doesn't matter how much you know
about threesomes, if you are still dealing with
approach anxiety or you can't hold a conversation
for 5 minutes.

If possible you want to try to record yourself
in set with a digital recorder ( Or video camera if you're sneaky)
Don't worry about hearing what the girls are saying,
instead just focus on what you're saying and how
you're saying it. At the very least you should
work on your delivery at home with a recorder or the mirror.

Don't focus on a result, instead focus on the process.
If you want to improve as fast as possible, you not
only have to practice, but you have to practice specific
things EVERY time you go out. There's no point to
going out and doing the same wrong thing 50 times a week.

Improvement doesn't come all at once, it comes in
little incremental bursts until all of a sudden you're
great with women.

You will have bad nights, even after you are already
"good". This is a part of life and something you have
to accept in order to have long term success with this
stuff.

Don't be afraid to try things, especially if they sound
ridiculous. But don't be afraid to discard things that
sound great if they don't work for you in the real world.

Lastly have fun, learning to pick up girls should not
be like learning to dismantle an atomic bomb.
