So, there's this girl that I met recently online via this stupid dating website I was on and off of for several years. Basically, like the very day I was signing off the damn thing (I didn't want the online dating thing to be a crutch), I meet this HB 8 that is really cool. We have a lot of similarities, and I really respect her a lot. Problem is... I am an agnostic, when it comes to religion. If there was a way to know the one true religion, I would be fine with that, but there are like a bazillion belief systems out there in religion... why just select one particular dogma on complete blind faith??? That's my philosophy of religion, but hers is very narrowly defined. I think she's like Pentecostal Christian. Just saying that makes me nauseated... bleh... but at the same time, I am an open-minded enough person to not judge her based on her beliefs. Anyways... point is... I think I've been doing okay thus far. She's told me she's very attracted to me. But at the same time, I'm worried this religious issue is going to blow up into some stupid debate at some point, or become an issue for her. Is there some way to calibrate for the religious aspect? I really respect this girl a lot- I think she's a good person, which is hard to find. She's also been very classy, in general, so far. Those are big issues for me. |
