So me and my buddy are pretty new to the whole pickup community but after a fair amount of reading and video watching we thought we were ready to do a little practicing. Today we went to the mall and opened about 10 sets each. We started by opening several saleswomen. We told them we were shopping for or our sisters but the only problem was she sometimes wore a small and other times wore a medium. We would playfully joke with them after their answers and when the girls went on their spiels about the newest clothes we would quickly backtrack and let them know they were talking too much like sales people and should talk to us more like friends Then after a little fluff talk we would transition into giving her a taste test and tell her something like you got and 83. We would proceed to talk more about the clothes while throwing in a few negs and disqualifiers. However, we consistently ran into the problem of the women still having the mentality that they were selling us something. Any suggestions about how to take her out of the saleswoman attitude? Also, I realize these probably aren't the best sets to be opening but we had a surprising amount of success pulling a number each (successful for our level right now)

If you want somebody to talk to you like a friend, don't TELL them to, DO IT YOURSELF first. If you just transitioned into stuff about movies or music or what happened to you recently or something like that, then they would naturally talk about that stuff too, which is the kind of thing that friends talk about. Also kino escalation is important to move away from the customer/staff dynamic, along with using their first name and using future projection, e.g. "oh you like X music? Well there's this great venue called Y, we should totally go" Future projection also helps to get the number close and make it less flakey.
