| Post subject: | Pause in Conversation |
Hey guy's, yesterday i went out with my cousin, we went to a lounge, we sit in the bar place and so there were 2 girls one HB7 black and one HB7 arabic so my cousin opened them, while i was just siting and wathcing, and so black girl showed me with a finger that i came to them. We had some little conversation, they were attracted, but because of lack of my english knowledge it was really hard to maintain the conversation and there were big pauses.... How to avoid this pauses in conversation ? With what to fill them ? We talked for about 5 minutes, wasn't it time for touching them ? They said that i look young, but they were same 21 as me, i didn't know how to correctly to answer on this stuff.... |

well, if you run out of things to say, you can always make moves to the dance floor. or say Who wants a drink?! (gets everyone occupied, and the girls might start the next conversation piece) |

However much I can say I don't like routine-based game, in this scenario it's always good to have a few DHV stories and fun games in your back pocket to keep the momentum going. Games of patty cake and stuff that involves kino can really help the escalation get started. |

ask opinions about something ... let her talk while you think of something new. or maybe reply on her subject. don't ask too much opinions .. it can look like reaction seeking - rapport seeking and insecurity this way you don't have to use canned material alot. |

Talk slow and use pauses in your own conversation. This builds up stories like crazy if you keep practicing. Have a couple stories in mind if this does happen or use another opener if need be. A good idea is to eject on a positive note, open more sets, and come back to the set/ target later Or you could just go physical like dancing |

Foxtrot is right on. I would add to that some silence is a good thing. You can use it to your advantage. You need to be comfortable with silence. You'll appear more confident. Some guys try to blab to fill up silences. You might come across as mysterious if you do it correctly. |

in chinese culture it's normal to be silent for a short period. in china they conceive our ''awkward silence '' as thinking time, actually if you talk over the phone with a chinese dude it's quitte normal to have a long period of silence. i always tell a girl '' hey i got some chinese friends ( which is really true ) did you know they perceive a long pause in a conversation as thinking time, it's completely normal.'' ( this is also true ) this reduces the awkwardness in a long pause..... she will think you don't mind the long pause, especially when i go out with those friends. of course you can make up your own story..... talking slow is a good point ! people talk way too fast, i don't know why but i don't like people talking fast ..... you have less to talk about and it's hard to follow. Put some emotion in your conversation ( relaxing ) and talk slow |
