For some reason I think you are just friends with her? Then go up to her and say blah would you go with me to the blank dance, then give her a red rose - after she says yes. If she says no save the rose for another girl. Do you have another girl?

Mad props to magnum45.

I have to agree with magnum45, you know this girl?

-If you know her already you must know what she likes. Incorporate something she likes with your creativity and do it.
-If that doesn't really answer it for you then I'll answer the way you kinda wanna hear.
-Offer to take her on a helicopter ride in Hawaii, or on the top of a mountain.
No I'm sorry. But honestly I have faith in your ability to impress this girl and it will mean so much if you personalize it for her and you'll be a bit more proud of yourself.

If she says no don't panic. There are tons of girls at highschools. :D
(If she says no be a dick and say "I didn't say you could go to the dance with me, I just asked if you wanted to.")

That's great stuff, and yes i am friends with her. I have been for a while but i think she is really shy and still getting over the hurt from her last break up. She seems very protective of who she opens up too and i am haveing a hard time getting to that point. If she dose say no, i know a girl that is really wanting me to ask her so the backup is covered.

but great stuff thanks

Ha I had the same problem asking a girl to prom and whatev. Just don't doubt yourself.

Say something like:
"Wow this dance is coming up pretty soon. I was thinking of who would be a cool date to go with because I know that I'm going to have a lot of fun at it (she might suggest going now)."

If she doesnt suggest going just say "are you going with anyone?" If she says no just continue and say "Ohh.. I just got a pretty cool idea- we should go!"

I dont know about giving her a rose yet because she might feel pressured like shes going on a date. But in the odd case that she says no, just respond with something like "oh well too bad.. I had some really good stuff planned.." then she will probably get curious and interested.

Hope I can help 8)

Hey man, I'm in grade 12 too, so I can relate to your situation.

You have to remember to be confident. I mean, I'm no expert and I have problems of my own, but the one main thing to remember here is the KEYS TO SUCCESS:

1. Confidence. No one is going to see value in you if you are shifty shaking and nervous! Plant those feet and sail your mind to the fucking moon. If you see yourself questioning your own value, then she will question your value. It is a known connection.
2. Picture it. This brings back the connection idea. Picture success and you will often get it. Walk up to her picturing her saying yes, as if her saying no is not a possibility--it defies logic.
3. Be nonchalant. In a way, you've gotta be casual about it. If you ask her like you've been planning it all night its not gonna work out, chances are. So relax beforehand, take some deep breaths, and just bring it up in conversation. Casual. Breezy. Casual and breezy is the way to be.

Hope that helped, just bring up the guts and do it. If she says no, its no big deal, you've got a hundred other girls who are lined up to go with you anyway.

Good luck, not that you'll need it though.

Please don't use the word "Help" in your title, it makes you seem needy

Go for it. No matter what happens it takes great courage to ask a girl out.

When it usually comes to actually asking someone something, I've come to realize that framing it as a question won't help a bit, frame it like it's a statement.

Sure, nothing is fool-proof. Things can fail.

Another way is to be funny about it. If it "happens" to come up in a discussion do it in a confident, funny way.

Assume she doesn't have anyone to go with and tell her about "this awesome guy you should go with".

Correct.

"Hey, we should go to this dance together! I'll totally pick you up. On our way to the dance, I'll be funny and you'll be laughing and giggling. Then at the dance, you'll be cute and bubbly, I'll be amazed at how awesome you are! (if you were older, I'd say "I'll be totally turned on and have to contain myself") Then while we're dancing, we'll both realize that we're having an amazing time, and we wont want the night to end!"

Props to Gamer for the Picture Painting method.
