The conventional pua wisdom for getting rid of oneitis is to “go fuck ten other women”. That being said, what's the best way to prevent oneitis from occurring in the first place? It's much easier to prevent a problem than to remediate a problem. It’s very hard to quit smoking so don’t let yourself get addicted to cigarettes in the first place, you know?

If you want to prevent oneitis... Don't talk to any women?

Oneitis is fucking great man, it's liking a girl, and there's no problem with that. You don't have to be some hardened fucking player, you don't have to be here to learn how to be a pick up artist. You can be here to improve yourself and improve your game, so that you're able to get any girl that you oneitis with! :)

Yeah, man, if you wanna prevent oneitis, move to the mountains, become a monk. Reside in shaolin. Or such things.

You pretty much suggested that you shouldnt talk to chicks.


I currently have three oneitis's. And a half-itis. ThricePointFiveItis. Or something.

whats wrong with getting a girlfriend?

if you have one-itis and she's not into you then I would say go bang 10 other girls. but if she is into you, I don't see a problem.

To be more correct, its liking a girl when she doesnt like you back.

The only way to prevent yourself from liking a girl TOO SOON is to not fantasize about her being the greatest thing on earth, your 'soul mate' etc etc. Dont get emotionally involved too soon. Have the mindset that youre purely in this to have fun and will see where it takes you. Do not think about the future with her as that can cause you to start forming an emotional bond.

Other than that, as its been said already....liking a girl is normal. Just try to time it correctly....ie. only after she likes you :)

To be MORE correct, oneitis is when you believe that a girl is 'the one' USUALLY to the detriment of a romantic relationship with her. This means that it's possible to have oneitis and not fuck up with the girl, but not likely. If you try to stop yourself from oneitising, then you don't learn how to act when you are under oneitis to further yourself in that certain relationship. You don't know how to act to properly secure a future relationship with that person.

Sure, it's easier to develop oneitis AFTER she already likes you, and it's easier to display it after she likes you, but knowing and auto-correcting if you feel like it before she has displayed interest in you is a great tool to have.

Heres a tip... go out an have sex with 5-10 girls.... if your still thinking about the one repeat the process again an again until you care less. goodluck!

It works in the reverse. The more women you talk to an intereact with, the less interested you'll be with her. She'll notice, and sometimes it make you more attractive.....

Stay away from it
DO that by making sure you are always out either talking to other women or fucking other women.

Get it right. Liking her is great. Thinking she is the only in the whole wide world for you and you have no idea how you will live on without her, that is bad!

Heres a test have you ever:

Fantasised:
about spending a day with her doing things
Meeting her parents
marrying her.

or have you stayed up past three in the morning thinking of her?

Then i'd bet anything that you are placing way too much value on this chick and doing so will ruin the relationship or will end up with you being stomped on and used constantly for the rest of the time she can tolerate you.

I should clarify why I want to prevent oneitis. I am not ready to get into a serious relationship right now. I just got out of one and have a lot of baggage so I can't go falling for some new girl. It wouldn't be fair to either of us.

if youre that into her it might mean that you are ready for a relationship. i wouldn't let the fact that I have 'baggage' stop me if i really liked her. We're always going to have issues to deal with, this is life. There is never a perfect time for anything.

if you are still not over your ex and dont want to hurt this new girl, then i would steer clear. if youre that into her though, you wouldn't be thinking this way and would simply want to spend time with her. My point is, if youre worried about hurting her you probably are not that mad about her.
