Post subject:  Mixed Messages: IOIs but talk about other guys (help a noob)

Hey guys,

A girl that I know has recently broken up with her boyfriend has started giving me mixed messages:

* I'm getting IOIs: Giggling, kino, she often sits closer than would be expected and allows her body to lean up against mine (especially if I start joking around), she sometimes starts acting sort of silly and girly around me.

But, there's also a sort of mixed vibe:

* She will talk about other guys (in a sort of, "he's hot" kind of way - could I now be considered a sort of gay-best-friend?), the chemistry (and conversation) isn't always there and she's compared me to her ex at least once.

Seriously, what's going on here?

While I'm pretty sure that there was a time when she was attracted to me (we once got pretty close to sleeping together), I'd assumed that this had pretty much gone away while she was with her boyfriend. In this time (about a year) we'd become fairly comfortable around each other but in a fairly platonic sort of way. Recently, I've been getting some good responses to my approaches (so I wouldn't call it one-itis) but I actually really like this girl.

Have I been placed in the friend drawer (and she's just become physically comfortable around me) or is it possible that she's still feeling attraction?

It's been a year. You've been LJBF'd.

Best thing to do is keep her as a female friend. Get her to introduce you to her female friends, and game other women in general. If she is attracted to you, then flipping her jealousy switches and showing preselection will make it easier for you to game her later. Go in now, and you risk throwing away that friendship and making things awkward.
