So I've heard a lot about the Cocky Funny approach to gaming women. I've read Double Your Dating, but I still don't really understand how to actually do it. How essentially does one actually be cocky and funny? I've been trying over the past month to use that communication style when talking to women, but I don't get a lot of laughter. Most of the comments are things like "you're an ass" or "you're sooo mean." Girls tend to get a bit put-off or offended. Which I assume means I'm not being funny enough. Note that I am in high school and running game on my classmates - this may skew my results. So, thoughts? Tips on being funny? Any help is appreciated. |

You are definitely being too cocky and not enough funny. Humor is a hard thing to explain or define. I got funnier by listening to humorous talk radio and comedy shows. You might want to try to emulate some comedic styles from funny people you know and like. You might be missing the absurd/silly aspect of humor, I remember I used to think that humor had to make sense or that there was a set logic it to it. On the contrary, humor is the escape of logic and sensible thinking. Humor is also a very personal and unique attribute. Everyone has their own personal style and timing, you just have to discover and nurture yours. |

Cocky and Funny is a Legitimate attraction tool but its not the be all and end all...but it does create a good convo/Banter.. and sets a good frame to start with |

Last night I called "chauvinistic" by this girl. I often do cocky funny and I do generally push boundaries, most of the time I get laughs but it's important to calibrate based on their reactions and the setting, etc. The reason I got the reaction last night was because I was actually preoccupied with something and I wasn't actually looking at her, OR smiling when I said it. Instead of being cocky and funny it just came off as rude. For example, "Oh my god you are such a bitch!" said with a big smile in a fake gay voice and striking a fake effeminate pose will come off as c+f, whereas said unsmiling without any kind of an ironic or joking tone will probably get you a slap. Similarly the cocky part comes from conveying your high status and "active disinterest" in a playful, fun way. For example saying "hands off the material" when she touches you, or saying "don't get any ideas" when you take her hand to do a palm reading or "that's all you get" when you let go of her hand afterwards. Said with a smile and a joking tone of voice, they come off playful. Said with a straight face and seriously, they come off as aggressive and/or rude. Two other related things to remember. First, cocky and funny is not the same as flirting, nor is it just telling jokes. Telling jokes a lot will start to be a DLV because you are basically performing - you become the "dancing monkey". C+f is about trying to show that you are not interested in her while still engaging with her, this makes her question why you are not and makes her try to prove herself to you. Secondly negs, which are part of c+f, are not insults. "Those jeans are lame" is not a neg, it's an insult, even said with a smile. "Those jeans are kind of cool, they're like something my little niece would wear" IS a neg. It looks like a sort of compliment, but in fact has a subtext which makes her then question herself. This is also part of getting her to prove herself to you, which you then reward with and IOI of your own and/or moving your body language towards her/kino escalation. |

My advice for you is to stop worrying to pick her up. If you make a C&F statement than say it to make yourself laugh. Don't worry if she laughs with it; as long as you laugh with it, it is perfect. You are not there to entertain the girl but to entertain yourself. |
