Post subject:  Meeting an old friend...

I'm basically starting all over from scratch with this chick. Haven't seen her for about a year. I saw her at my job and grabbed her number before she left. Only talked to her for like 2 minutes since I was working at customer service and had a line. Called to invite her to a concert a day later, but she couldn't go. She was disappointed, but said that I should tell her sooner next time. Had a crush on her a while ago while we were in class. We were friends, but now I'm going for a lay ;) How do I make this happen? How do I use the fact that we knew each other long ago to my advantage? Setting up a day2 at a neighborhood coffee shop/food place near my job this week.

Don't go into this expecting to have extra ammunition as a result of previous association. Treat it like any HB you hardly know and start from scratch. Standard comfort building, rapport, kino (from the start) all apply.

The only benefit I can see that you might have could be plenty of conversation topics.

You probably have neg ammunition too somewhere in your past interactions with her.

Make yourself the prize, place value upon yourself, build attraction, watch for IOI's, be confident, take control and go for gold.

Good luck with it :)

I agree. I would just add that I think good day 2s are ones in which you give yourself ample opportunity to both DHV and kino. Getting coffee / dinner is generally a bad one because you're sitting across from each other, just the two of you, basically having an interview. If you say you're seeing some friends for a fun night out and she should come, then you have the ability to DHV by 1. planning a night and being the general ringleader 2. showing her you have cool friends which indicates your high status (esp female friends = preselection). If the day 2 is somewhere like a bar with pool tables or something, then you have the opportunity to kino escalate and you can easily isolate her after introducing her to your friends to a quiet table to really get some comfort going.

One of my favourite day 2 locations when I was living in Brooklyn was a place called Barcade (which I highly recommend to anyone in the Williamsburg area). It was a bar with a great beer selection, a pool table, nice dimly lit corner tables and, best of all, tons of oldschool arcade games (hence the name). It was my local, so I knew most of the bartenders there and that was an easy DHV as soon as we walked in "hey blondguy good to see you again, what can I get you and your friend?", also my place was just round the corner so it was easy to bounce straight there after or hit the 24 hour diner across the street. I highly recommend cultivating good day 2 locations and getting to know the staff at them.

Yeah I got to know the staff of this newly opened Jamaican restaurant because I knew it would be a help to me later on :) I had a day 2 with a new co-worker at a pizza place and it sorta sucked. All I could do was touch her on the shoulder multiple times. She had to go to work later though so we couldn't do much in terms of entertainment anyway.

God I love the city :( I was planning on moving to that general area since I liked it so much. My friend's family even owns a bakery in the area. That place is moving up fast from what I can see!

Anyway, back to the topic at hand, I live two hours north from nyc so there are fewer fun places close by. I DO know of a Monster Golf that just opened a few months ago so I'll look into that.
