Not sure if this goes here or the lounge but w/e. I'm in a bi-lingual city and I speak English really well (grew up in NY) but my French isn't cut out for pick up, I can express most of what I want to say (I spoke it at home growing up but always to family never really in a social setting where I'd wanna be fun), but I can't pull off funny witty stuff or act as cocky with the same effectiveness. Any ways around this or tips on pulling ideas through the language barrier. |

One of my friends has successfully overcome this problem. The ONE thing you need is.... obviously. CONFIDENCE. it doesn't matter if you can't say anything. When I met this guy, he spoke barely any English. using a little effort, he figured out how to say *can i have your number* and for the rest of the night, he was constantly using that ONE line. Hilarious to watch, AND successful . language barrier doesn't mean jack. Just act natural. |
