| Post subject: | Question about cloths |
Okay so I just kinda started doing pick up, and I have a question about cloths. Now im about 5'10, and I'm about 180 pounds, I'm not to sure if I should wear like kinda tight shirt or like loose ones. I know tight ones make me look pretty good, but I kinda feel self conscious about wearing them. I have a pretty good outit set up, it consists of a slim fit medium sized shirt, a white hat with some chick sunglasses. So basically tight shirts or loose shirts for a little bit of an overweight guy, I might post pics too. |

Dude, I'm 5'11 and 215lbs, with 16% body fat, so I'm chunky. I find that tight shirts, (not skin tight, but form fitting) get me more attention from the ladies. Plus, if you have a bit of a beer belly, don't be proud of it, be UNAFFECTED by it. Be comfortable in your body. Trust me.

Hey I tried emailing the guy who decides if you can advertise but he never messaged me back. I love clothes and I am a member of some exclusive online stores that are invite only and sell designer brands for at least 50% off retail pricing. I also am a Karmaloop rep. and you can get off up to 20% i think with my rep code "CR37007". If you are interested in the other exclusive online shops email me at "painterofearth@gmail.com" and I will send you an invite. Sorry if this goes against policy but I did try to confirm it and I think it will do more help than harm. |

Look bro, I'm not gonna lie. Im 160 lbs and 6' 2", and I don't feel comfortable wearing tight clothes out to clubs. It's important to look good, but its also important to not look like your trying too hard. I think for you, wearing tight clothing would qualify as trying too hard. Okay, think of it this way. Your clothes represent 2 things. 1) they represent the quality of life that you live/want to live (I know that sounds like a stuck up thing to say, but people place different values on a $400 pair of shoes vs. a $40 pair of shoes). 2) they represent your style (i.e. people who wear punk clothing or scene/emo clothing tend to attract within their group) Now tight clothing doesn't necessarily affect the 1st one, but the 2nd one... Well, peoples opinions are subject to change based on what group your entertaining. Ultimately, it does boil down to comfort, but it also depends on what kind of girls your trying to attract. |

That's a terrible stereotype to try and push onto him, he may look amazing in tight shirts, and by you saying that you could have just put him off them. Wearing tight clothing is a hell of a lot better then wearing loose clothing as long as you have a decent body, if you don't, act as if you do. Feeling positive about your body and your appearance has the greatest effect on the people around you, and that will make the difference between them thinking 'He's trying too hard' and 'He looks amazing.' This is the best thing about the post above, it does boil down to comfort, it boils down to whether or not you're comfortable with your own body and what clothes you're comfortable in. If you feel negative about your body, then work on it, set yourself a work out schedule and get yourself to a stage where you like you're body. Eat well, exercise, and live well, It'll give you more energy and you'll have ALOT more fun. As for clothing, if you don't feel comfortable with you're body, you can wear dark colours which will allow you to look slimmer and leaner, or you can layer, which is a great way to look both stylish and attract attention. I agree that tight clothing is better than loose; however, I believe that well fitting clothes are better than both. I also agree that your physical form is not as important as you may think, and that its actually your projection of self that most people tend to recognize as attractive. And, while I'm all for having confidence in your body, there is a delusional aspect to what your saying too. If your not willing to look at your body in an objective way, then what is the point in improving your physical self?... Good Luck man, and remember, you're only as good looking as you believe you are I'm not trying to be a dick here. I work in retail and get womens opinions on things all the time. If you ever have any doubt on this, check it out for yourself. Go to a store, try things on, and ask for a womans opinion. Quite honestly, most of the people where I live (Austin, TX) that wear tight T-shirts and jeans, are buff roid monkeys that, generally speaking, are compensating for a lack of personality and women tend to laugh at them. This is not to say that you cant pull tight clothing off, but why try to dance on the line when you could look just as good in well fitted clothes and appeal to more women!? Let me use a similar example from personal experiences that I've learned to shy away from. I used to enjoy wearing button downs that displayed the 70's squirrel pelt that clings to my chest. "Fuck it!" I used to say, "I don't want a woman that doesn't dig this!" But as time went on and more women didn't approve of the protruding forest of hair adhering to my chest, I realized that I was cutting off a percentage of women that could have been potentially interested. Does where I'm coming from make a little more sense? Because it was not my intention to put the OP in a worse spot, I'm trying to save you some time in becoming a well dressed dude. |
