I met up with this girl for coffee today after running into her. She's been a sometime acquaintance. We spent most of the day together. Way too much of it was spent talking about her asshole ex-boyfriend who she split up with the day before. Normally I'd try and change the subject as I know this is a fast route to LJBF land, but it was difficult as she was clearly quite upset about it and kept bringing it up despite my best efforts. We're hooking up again tomorrow. I basically made it clear we needed to talk about other stuff. I don't think this is dead yet, as I'm getting some IOI's, worked a lot of kino on her which she seems very comfortable with, and I'm fairly certain she wouldn't have been so keen to see me again so soon after we'd already spent a lot of time together if there wasn't more going on here. Any suggestions how to deal with her bringing up her ex if it happens again tomorrow? |

Any suggestions how to deal with her bringing up her ex if it happens again tomorrow? Personally, I don't know why you would ask her out again if all she did was talk about her x boyfriend the first time. Her mind is set on him, not you and there is no way you can properly game a girl in that state of mind. A$$hole boyfriends tend to linger around for long periods of time. If he called her tomorrow, she would forget about you and meet up with him, guaranteed. But, given your current situation, I would say 'look, it seems like you are still upset over your recent break up, I'll take you home and we can continue this some other time'. If she refuses and wants to stay, try to get through the date with minimal effort. Then, leave her alone for a couple of weeks. IF she has any Interest in you, she will try and contact you when she is mentally ready. |
