Post subject:  What to wear?

Hey guys,

Just been having a look through and couldnt find a thread about this? Im just starting to get into the game and I really wanna take this shit seriously. Thing is I have absolutly no idea what looks good on me, im 6" and very slim so its hard to find things that fit right. I guess I dress normally, like A&C t shirts, jeans from next etc etc but I want something thats going to look fashionable and maybe set me apart from the crowd. Ive been on ASOS but cannot find anything I think will look good! Does anyone have any ideas for style or any tips on how to find your own style?

The most common answer is wear what feels right.

For me it was a 2 way process, I gained 8 kilo since I joined the gym (1year).

Well first I worked out AFC style by ignoring legs/squats and lifts. Never forget the legs/back, pants look a lot better if they actually fit well. Its not about getting big/muscular its about getting things to fit as they supposed to, eat a lot, or learn to eat a lot work out 3 times a week for 1 year. Don’t over do it and become a idiot looking muscleman, chicks don’t like that.

Secondly learn from others TV, the street, whatever, find a style that suits you, that’s not dime a dozen but stands out a little without being uncomfortable, girlfriends of others complement me on my own style. More layers, buttoned shirts, slimfit. Business like without overdoing it.

Dont buy what everyone else buy's, dont be the next guy.

Hope this helps

think about what YOU think looks good on others and experiment...style is an extension of yourself; ie short hair shows masculinity and is more alpha (in my opinion) while long hair reflects a more loose, relaxed personality. work out and get some definition. i read gq often and while its for more dress up kind of stuff (a lot of thier tips are on buying suits, etc, not as much day time wear) there is lots of good tips. if you really have a hard time, flip through a gossip or fashion magazine and look at the pictures. highlight your attributes. i could give much more specific advice if i knew you, its kind of hard without knowing what someone looks like. whats your hair and eye color? what kinda music are you into? whether consciously or not, you can see a lot of someones style reflected in their music and vice versa (rappers obviosuly will dress differently than metal rockers)

Cheers foundation. Im actually a member of my local gym but up until now have been finding motivation difficult. Yeah, Im never gonna get big but I dont want things to hang off me! Im just having a really hard time finding like a store thats got stuff I like that I wouldnt usually buy. I have tried to take tips from other people but cant seem to find what they find! Must be missing something.

And DXB12 Ive got brown hair and hazel eyes, suppose thats pretty neutral and boring haha! Musically im an all rounder. I like Trance music- love Tiesto and well into pop and rock music. Not big on hip hop. I just dont know where to begin mate.

Thanks for your help lads, much appreciated.

Well use the new "pua" - social you to help you grow.

Find a trainings buddy: A colleague from work, a friend, a friend of a friend, someone who is already training at your gym with the same physic/goals. And also important someone who has something in common

My buddy was the same as me we joked around about ITIL/computer related work while we both worked our ass off.. helped each other to periods with no motivation. He gained over 12kg.

I have no work-out motivation if I go less then 5 times a 2 weeks. You don’t see results so you get demotivated. once is a waste, twice is a pain, 3 times is real gain and you’ll have some sort of “fun”. Do squats, and probably super-sets for quick results.

Also being slim could be a advantage in the long run. I look muscular cause I have no body-fat never had. Just keep eating, I ate 12-16 slices of brown bread and a warm meal every day. (eat every 2/3 hours) Also rest, eat, workout.. in balance, sleep is just as important. We.. we skinny people probably have it just as hard as fat people. At least they got something to transform into shape, we got to eat it all.

The same goes for finding a new look, find a girl (could be just a friend) to help you find something. But before you do this have a sense of what you want. So you don’t jump threw her hoops if she is joking around. Girls love shopping, don’t do this with a dream girl.. just ask someone anyone. Don’t see every girl as a target, use her to get to her friends etc.

Also don’t be afraid to try something.. I tried a scarf, hated it. I tried a Mohawk and felt stupid. Just go with the flow=) But i did like a pink shirt (which i never would have bougth in my pre-pua fase.

Before I was introduced to the PUA scene I always felt uncomfortable if i changed something of myself that would give me a lot of attention. After being introduced to peacocking I started to wear stuff that was different.

Things I wear now and will get a lot of attention are:

Necklaces ( I have one cycle chain necklace, and one with a big salamander on it)
Bracelets
A Watch
Tattoo sleeves
Hats
Caps
Barrets
Ties
Scarfs

Clothes are in my opinion less important, just because there a lot of well clothed guys, it wouldn't make you more interesting then an average guy.

What makes my peacocking even better is that I have storys about the things im wearing, if people consider it first as weird they will consider it afterwards as cool.
