Post subject:  pick up ever got you into a fight?

Last night I rolled up into what I thought was a 3 set of girls. At some point I accidentally stepped on a guys foot beside me. I honestly thought it might have been another girl in close proximity so I turned & apologized to her & the guy was like "it was my foot mother fucker & I don't like you talking to my poon" & got up in my face. I looked around & he had 3 or 4 dudes with him as well kind of smiling at me like this guys going to kick your ass.

Looking back on it I really think the 3 set of girls I was talking with were with those guys as well, which I totally missed. I was so not in the fightin frame/state (totally confident/ happy at tha point) that honestly thought he was joking at 1st. I kind of gave him a smile & just had a blank unimpressed stare & the guy broke & back down & actually said he was joking which looking back I know he was seriously pissed.

Quite interesting encounter for me. I think I was almost alpha-ing without knowing it. Now I know that's being non-reactive to his threat, basically AMOGing him back is not going to get me out of the situation most of the time, & actually might amp it up for real alpha's. How do you guys handle these situations. There was really no "cool man" or other community tricks I could have used, the guy stepped up to met out of nowhere. Glad I stood my ground but it makes me think I need to learn a little self defense at this point now.

That's why I packs my 9! Just kidding. You should check out Brazilian Jujitsu, its awesome - you can end a fight by submitting someone so many different ways, without actually hurting someone - fuck trading punches and having noses and teeth break and blood getting everywhere.
That guy probably wanted to make you lose face in front of the girls; he probably felt threatened by the value you were giving off, and wanted to show his (monkey) value. But you (accidentally) called his bluff and he failed, hahaha, brilliant.
I have been lucky enough to avoid these situations, though there was a guy who's girlfriend I had kissed when he was off in Australia for 9 months. Then he was seeing a new chick and I F closed her. He ran into me and got in my face but I'm quite a lot bigger and I knew he didn't feel like getting into violence...I did feel kind of bad though.
To be honest, about 8 years ago, I did once totally act like that guy. It was at a time I was lifting weights like crazy and had about 210 pounds on my 6'3 body. It was Halloween and I was with my girlfriend at a bar. Some guy walks up, inserts himself between me and my gf, giving me his back and blocking her from me, and says "I just wanted to tell you, me and my friends think you are really beautiful." I grabbed his shoulders from behind, spun him away from my table, aimed him back where he came from, gave him a good smack on the ass, and growled "fuck off."
He scurried away, but I was still pissed. After a few minutes, I went to his table - he was with 4 other guys and 1 girl, me by myself. I was wearing boots for my costume which made me another 2 inches taller. The guy who had approached my girl was seated next to the one girl. I leaned in between them, facing her and giving him my back. I told her, "me and my friends think you are really beautiful." The girl started beaming and asked "really!??" (she was actually not, at all, and didn't know what was motivating my invasion) The guy started apologizing intensely and I sort of triumphantly lingered a moment and left.
I cannot say why I acted like such an idiot. I am embarrassed to remember it, those guys were all quite meek and it must have taken a lot of courage for him to approach my woman, and I probably ruined his night. With my costume he couldn't guess I was the boyfriend, and obviously he didn't have enough game to open the male (me) of the set. I guess I was quite the AFC, had frustration and insecurity about girls in general, and this girlfriend was the first chick I really loved...and despite not having had the kind of experience with other women I wished for, I wanted to show her I was the best somehow. I don't know, I just wanted to make this confession : ) And I guess both our stories show how important it is to win over the males in the group.

Pretty often happens here in Bulgaria too.

Last Saturday I was doing day-game workshop to a bunch of guys. One of them talked to a cute girl on the street. Just a minutes later a guy with cool car came up she just walk inside and he started insulting the group. But of course he was afraid to come out cause he would be dead meat.

I was in USA and West Europe many times - and never saw so many ready to fight guys there :)

1. BJJ is awesome.

2. However BJJ will get you fucked over if thier's more than one, like the above situation.

3. Sub-missions... ...REALLY REALLY! You expect him to tap out and say, "sorry man, clearly your better", then wander off.

Joint locks snap bones, chokes make people pass out and die. That was their origonal purpose before western society and "sport" bastardised it. :P

/MA MODE

Otherwise..

he's right, he felt threatened and wanted to intimidate you, your refusal to back down made him question his power and he stepped back.

The guy was obviously a chode, most guys wouldn't be so rough with you, nice work dealing with him! (Y)

I am always weary of posting in threads like these as people with AA can you it as backup for their beliefs. But yar saying hi to the wrong girl in a street got a knife pulled on me then later a finger broke, face kicked to shit and my phone and wallet stolen. But yar be more sociable people lol

I think if you lock someone up and put them in some pain and calmly explain they have one chance to walk away, otherwise you will fuck up their life forever...I think a lot of wanna-be Amogs would be willing to call quits; if you know what you are doing you can get the point across that they are outmatched without killing / bone cracking them... But yeah, you are right it could get nasty...and you are right, it won't do too much good if 3 other guys are kicking your head. Didn't mean to say something stupid about BJJ, just wanted to recommend it if you really are considering a martial art

I've personally never had anything like this happen. Posting about these things can definitely hurt somebody who has serious AA though. These are very rare incidents you should also include about how often it happens, probably once in 300 or more approaches I'd guess. I just project a positive vibe though and just don't get guys who step up to me. Even when I'm being a douche, weird I guess? Maybe I'm intimidating, maybe I don't piss people off, or maybe some other strange reason.

As for taking self-defense and such I'd say go for it, BJJ I'm sure is very useful. It will also help your self-confidence in those kinds of situations. And its a good thing to learn in-case of an incident like that, despite how rare it may be. But above that its still such a rare occurring incident that its almost not worth bringing up to scare the AA guys.

No problems.

I used to think alot like you, unfortunatly emotions don't work like that and people aren't that honourable, when you release him 9 times out of ten, he will just try and sucker punch you.

The fact that you put him in a lock and didn't finish the technique sends him this signal.

I'm not really a tough guy, I'm just to humiliating you.

More than likely the lock and the ultimatum of "surrender" will just get him pissed off.

If he's a threat punch him, elbow him, slap him into a standing arm bar snap it and push kick him to the floor, leave it at that. :P

.... Assuming their are no bouncers around, in which case just get them to deal with it.

My advice would be if things take a turn for violence, he is not an amog ho needs showing up.

He's a threat to your safety and your going to have to deal with that.

Whether that is via unleashing hell or just walking away.

Interesting you say about 300 approaches because I'm guessing 300-400 is a pretty good estimate on how many I've done at this point & this is the 1st real incident & even in this one nothing happened.

I had AA bad at the start & I hadn't really thought about scaring the beginners, but that said if those people have anxiety like me they probably already have some fear of getting their ass kicked or knowing it's possible. I think it's probably healthy to have some awareness & I wish I had seen a thread so I would have been better prepared because I guess I rationalized the worst that could happen was a chick throwing a drink on me because thats what a lot of the community tells you & to not worry about it.

Maybe the fact it's kind of rare also would actually give them a little more confidence, that & at least having some sort of plan to deal with it. I certainly will have a better idea in my head now of what I'll do next time. If anything does happen again I will try to stand my ground at first if he doesn't back down, hell I will walk away, not that big a deal. I think, if he throws a punch try to take it to the ground cover up & let the bouncers break it up. About the best scenario I can think of.

I've got into 1 fight because of pickup. But I was definitely off my game from having too many drinks, usually pua's are good at learning to be above the fight as long as you can get the girls on your side and make the boys look childish.

haha yeah, have had a close call myself. walked into a massive party and i guess i got picked out from the rest for dressing a little more stylish than a large group of random pot head, thugs, skater kids. im the smallest guy in my group even though im 6'1 and 180lbs, and all my mates jumped in on the bloke. ah its always nice to have tough friends...

Firstly I just wanna reasure anyone reading this, that it happens very rarely. Out of the many many approaches I have done, I have never been in a fight but have been threatened a couple of times.

That is the reason I took up Aiki jujutsu. Not that I am particularly worried about getting beaten up, just nice to have a something there just incase. Also it is best to try and talk your way out of a situation before even considering any physical force.

Put it this way though. Because the likley hood of it happening is so low it would never in a million years stop me from approaching.

I've been taking BJJ for about a year. I don't think I would want to use it in a standing fight. Ground fighting is a different story though.

As Mystery talks about, having the fear of getting your ass kicked is hard wired into your head from about 40000 years ago. So most beginner guys get this AA feeling just from that sometimes.. When ever i approached i've never actually thought about getting my ass kicked, just scared of running out of things to say :)

Yeah, I was alway more scared the chicks would say mean shit & destroy what little confidence I had at the time than some dude pounding my face. I think honestly I would have rather had the fight at the time cause the girls blowing me out hurt for far longer & really set me back because when I used to approach before I got in the community it never went well. Some of those chicks would say some mean shit but honestly I didn't have a clue & deserved it the way I was approaching. Even when I first started after reading the game at least having a gameplan & some confidence in it, it's never went really bad. I can think of a couple cases in hundreds of approaches I got a fuck off look but I was trying new openers or something I made up & think it was more my issue.
