So I'm a freshman in college and I've come to know this girl over the past couple months. We seem to get along pretty well and she's even asked me to teach her a song on the guitar after she found out that I played. I gave her the lesson and things looked to be going pretty good until two thing happend: 1) My friend got really drunk the other night and told her that I liked her, to which I responded "wow what an asshole." (I didn't know what to say at the moment!) 2) She broke up with her boyfriend within the past month, but still has feelings for him. She's stated that it was a mutual agreement to break up with each other because she always relied on him to make her feel better about herself. She also said that she's not ready for a boyfriend right now (but this isn't because I made a move on her or anything like that) My question is, what do I do next? Do I even have a shot with this girl or should I just move on and stay friends with her? Any help will be much appreciated as I'm new to this PUA stuff! |

If you act like nothing more than a friend, she'll want to be nothing more than a friend. First things first: Forget her boyfriend. Don't bring him up. Don't worry about him. Once you get her hook, line, and sinker, she'll do the same. I get the impression that you're being passive with her and waiting for her to make a move or waiting for her to signal to you that it's okay to make a move. You need to pave your own path. LEAD her. I think Mr. Hobbs put alot into perspective there, much props. A woman likes to be lead. I get the impression that your giving off this friend vibe and once in that zone, it's very hard to get out of. Been there. Kino and push pull, I think you should start there if you haven't, hell, that should have been done within the first 5 minutes but still do it if you want to move it foward. Ask her to join you outside of just the lessons or better yet,tell her you need to go get some strings at your local music shop and have her come along. Bring her into your world, DON'T ROTATE AROUND HERS! You HAVEN'T kino'd yet, get her to the store OR when showing her a lesson at home, show some complex notes, tell her she is not getting it, place your fingers on hers...That's a start, once your really comfortable, get behind her as if I.e. showing her how to bat, but with the guitar. It's bold, but you can try it, definately throw in,,,DONT GET ANY IDEAS GIRLY or something playful. Keep us posted. |
