Post subject:  Mixed Signals Driving Me Crazy! Can Anyone Help?

ok, im gonna try and make this short:

I've known this girl for a little while now (we aren't close friends or anything), and she's not really the "flirty" type. However, most of the time when I'm with her, we tease and joke around with each other a lot, and she also touches me a lot (ex. grabbing my hand/arm, standing close enough to me to make body contact), and also smiles and laughs a lot when I talk to her.

I've seen how she acts around other people, and from what I can tell, she only acts like this towards me.

So, I finally decide to ask her out, and she couldn't go during that time (it was actually a legitimate excuse), and when I asked her out, she got a really big smile on her face, and was pretty cheery for the rest of the day.

Because of this, I decided to ask her out again a few days later, and she simply replied "maybe, im not sure."

I still have not gotten an answer (it has been about a week and a half since I asked), and I haven't said anything about it since because I don't wanna push it too much. So basically, I need to know what is going on/what did I do wrong here.

It would be great if anyone could shed some light on this for me and give me some advice as to what I should do.

Thanks!

A very similar thing happened to me recently and I think it boils down to the idea of a date putting pressure on the girl. It's better if you can make hanging out with her seem spontaneous and that you don't have any expectations of her. The problem is with her imagination going wild when you're not around and stressing her out. That's why women flake out so much. She wants to hook up but her anxiety gets to her.

so, I should spend more time with her, but not make it seem like a date or anything?

well for me i just say "lets go to so and so place. What time are you free later?", but i make sure it's either a day or 2 before or on the day. It helps being spontaneous and reducing flakyness.
