Post subject:  Are There Many 'Standard' Blokes in the Community?
It strikes me, reading through many of these posts, that most of the people who get involved in the Community are, not to put too fine a point, nerds or geeks. Or other socially unadjusted people. I mean, personally I do quite well socially - I find I can get along with most people, and have no problem with AA. I've even had my fair share of HB7 to 9 girlfriends in the past. I got into the Community to open up my options with women, but primarily as self-improvement, which is something that I like to feel I am going through all the time. I've become good at singing, acting, at intellectual academic work, and women is an area where I don't perform much above average.

The stuff I've learned by reading in the last month is excellent - I k-closed 3 times with a 7 and two 8s a few nights ago and got my first blowjob, so I'm not knocking the power of the routines, the ideas, the methods etc.

Are other guys who started off like me? Just guys who are socially fine but who want to have the best pick of women? Because there seem to be a lot of posts saying things like 'I've stopped playing five hours of WoW, had a haircut and started shaving!'

Short answer yes there are.
Long answer:
I dont know how many "standard" guys there are. I normally only see people come along who are good or very bad. I think a large number of the bad are actually average just negative about it.
Why does it matter?

Sorry guys, I appreciate that I sounded quite arrogant/up my own arse. I don't really see 'geek' as a particularly negative thing - hell I was one for most of my childhood, and proud of it. I just wondered rather how many guys come in to improve on their social skills rather than to gain them from scratch.

hmm....what really makes someone a geek?

I'm skilled with photoshop and multimedia programs. I spend hundreds of hours on video games.

but I also party, socialize, ride a motorcycle, and joined the Marines.



personally, I don't believe a 'standard' person exists. People are mixes of things, public perception is merely a view at what someone thinks is the 'right' thing to be.

Ehhh its a fine line between geek and not geek, I would say I was a bit of both, I used to play video games, but at the same time be very social, I had some game but never got the girl I wanted,

So instead of playing video games, now I just game girls, I took out the video games, replacing it with a much healthier game, if you know what I mean :lol:

This forum has helped me realize all the things that for or another I could not figure out on my own,

He has a VERY valid point. The vast majority are incredibly insecure teens. Anyone reading this forum can see this. Sadly, most think that some tramps will make their life better. Trust me, she won't. The real issue is within. Using the outside world to fix you insecurities has never worked for anyone. That is exactly why depression follows success for most people. They accomplish their goals and finally discover that they still are miserable.

One of the keys to life is to NEVER EVER compare yourself to others. Just don't fall into that trap. That will solve a vast number of your problems immediately.

I totally get what he's saying.
This is not to say I don't find some of the point he's trying to make a bit condescending.

The only point I want to make is that being a "Standard Model", serialized, rank and file guy is no better than being "Standard Model" /b/tard, WoWfag, or Gaylo 3 addict.

Standard Models are what we are trying to distinguish ourselves from, and this being the case, making distinctions between standard model "bloke" and standard model "geek" are not only counter productive, but empty assessments of personalities.

In short, it's analogous to asking, "How deadly is your cancer?" on a terminal cancer forum.

'Standard is probably the wrong word to use. I just didn't want to use 'normal', which would have been even worse!

@ Dre - know what you mean buddy. I used to regularly spend 4 hours a day on video games until about 3-4 years ago when I dropped it. Didn't replace it with game, like you though. Replaced it with acting/singing courses, which now gives me a lot of DHV (now that I know what DHV means, of course!). All 3 of my k-closes the other night were straight after telling the HB that I was a jazz singer (which is true, I'm just not fully professional ;) ).

I know what you mean here, whilst it doesn't really matter there is a big aura of basement dweller on a lot of posts. Although there are a lot of people in the community like you, guys that have never really had a problem getting women etc but just fancy being better at it.
