You are already f----- up if you care. Social value means nothing. It is simply something insecure people create to feed or deflate their ego. Look within rather than outward.

The funniest thing is that nobody but you cares about "your social value". They really don't. Most people are simple pleasure seekers. That is why most of America is fat and STD infected. Sex and food are what makes America go around and around. Food has never made anyone happy in the long run. Neither has sex. Both are a nice part of life, but they can also be a distraction from having to deal with yourself.

My advice is to spend more time with yourself. Start noticing the little things that make life special. When you start appreciating all that there is you start feeling better about yourself. When this happens people start feeding off your confidence and want to be around you.

Expat_of_love has a good point here when it comes to not being affected by what this other guy says, but the OP has an argument if he is in high school/college IMO.

For one thing, my friends had teased me about this same exact thing. Luckily, they didn't go around telling girls (maybe they know I have some ammo on them, such as one failing out of college, another cheating on his gf, etc.). In high school, people are generally immature and think this is such a huge deal - they think this is the be all and end all of what you are. In college, its a bit less. I go to school on a larger campus and I am always seeing/meeting people for the first time. In the group of people you regularly see/have classes with/run into, it's closer to high school where word gets around. College students just don't make a big deal out of it.

As for you Sherlock, just remain cool and don't show it getting to you. There are all sorts of lines you can pull off here that will show it's not really getting to you (D!CK: haha Sherlock is a virgin! SHERLOCK [very calmly]: OK...big deal, so what if I am?). If a HB asks you about it, you could always say, "I dunno...you want to try and find out?" The only problem here of course is that she may figure it out since it'd be the "first time." Not a huge deal though.

The biggest thing people need to learn to do is "not give a fuck"

your the master of your own reality, and the only emotions or reactions you should feel are the ones you want to feel. dude says something about you in a negative light you have two options.

Play it cool, and people will look at you in a new way, with confidence...or be like everyone else and get defensive.

The best trick i use when situations like this come up or an alpha male trys to out play me. Never give a definative answer.

One of the greatest lines i use in a sarcastic funny tone is " yeah and its about 2 inchs...but, it will grow on you."

you say that without no feeling or emotion behind it, one you just made the douche look like a douche, two you should your confident enough to crack a joke on yourself when everyone knows it was a joke, and three how can you top that? no matter what that person says after the fact.

the key is, is to come off saying it right, otherwise it will be a DLV and your screwed.

there are a million answeres to any question that are not 100% defenant, find one that fits you and use it.

Couldn't disagree more with this.

From Businessdictionary.com:

Couldn't be anymore wrong. People do care and your social value as it is how people place you on the social ladder and determines how they interact and treat you. Why do you think some people get preferential SPAM over others? Because they have a higher social value than others.

Though the opening sentence of that quote is right on, the rest is a failure. Its a good idea to act as if the person throwing insult is funny to you. Dont confront the insult, let it slide like it was one of your friends callin you a fag or a douche.

Have a comeback, use a "your momma" joke if you have nothing prepared, (YOUR MOMMA JOKES ARE THE EASIEST AND MOST UNIVERSAL funny attention diverters known to man)

Like:
DBAG: homeboy over here is a virgin!

You: "Oh right, well this VIRGIN still made your momma still squeal like a piglet!"

Such a good burn and nobody will even be thinking about the potential fact that you are a virgin.

Every time someone uses a momma joke its like being back in ninth grade and two pre pube's are arguing about to run home crying. In short i find them immature, exception is if its a really good friend and you rib each other in that manner.

If you are alone in a bar you might not want to pull out a "your momma" joke, but you might want to consider the context, we are talkin about being around people that you know, and there happens to be a girl, and in this guys case, hes probably A YOUNG PERSON so no need for the irrelelevant critizism. Im giving advice. What are you doing?

to make yourself look like and ass after someone else made you look like an ass is pretty much a double negative, which will never make a positive.

insulting others is a DLV, making a crack/joke that makes it seem your not phased is a DHV

I thought I was giving better advice to avoid being a class clown but perhaps in the context you drew out, it might not be so bad . . . if he is a 14 year old and in a playground, surrounded by his 14 year old friends, and in front of 12 year old girls.

Think of anybody classy . . . think of any player . . . in any culture or any place in the World . . . can you imagine the guy screeching his game to a halt to come up with a "yo mama is ______"???

This is good advice. If you have a habit of pulling off these childish one liners, try to ween out of them before you graduate high school.

well if you happened to be speaking to me then your comprehension skills are lacking, its cool, since obviously your maturity level is on par with your reading skill.
