So, I have this friend and I suffers from her being a socially inept nerd. Example: I start chatting to a girl at a social event. She smiles and we seem to be getting along. Friend blunders in, says "I knew he'd talk to you", "knew he'd say that", "I apologise for my friend" (she does this a lot. It's annoying), said friend also talks at people rather than to them which make it very hard to get a word in. And she's pretty useless at hints. Really feel this cramps my style. I seem to be getting some third party DLVs. Any suggestions or should I just avoid any event she might be at? |

Ya...this "friend" has the hots for you and that's why she's purposefully trying to make you look lame in front of other girls. How you should deal with this is tricky. Avoid her if you can. Make comments that make it clear you don't see her as a potential lover. Basically treat her like a guy. If she has a negative reaction to this, great she'll leave you alone. To avoid hurting her feelings, either a) find her a bf or b) try to distance yourself from her in these situations. Hope this helps. |

She's got a bf. A long term doormat she keeps under her thumb:) Never got any IOI's from her and I've been pretty much the BAFC most of the time I've known her until fairly recently. Doubt this is anything deliberate on her part, but I have no idea whether she's subconsciously trying to cockblock or whether she is just being who she is. Although I usually have other mates in these situations who might be willing to head her off. |

A friend doesn't cramp your style or show you up in front of a crowd. Time to seriously reconsider if you want this person around. |

I reckon make a move on her, it will go one of two ways. She will either be happy to have a little excitement in her life or will get pissed off and hopefully avoid you. |

Hey this was in the movie Sex Drive, interestingly enough it featured a fat likeable dude as a pua, pretty accurate. demonstrated pivoting, not taking nonsense and escalation. Anyways, the incorrect term they coined was "twat-blocker" the guy and girl did hook up at the end though. |
