I was thinking this before as i was just about to head to the book store and library. If you're a newbie like me then i would recommend: Rules of the game - Neil Strauss (It's a 30 day challenge book to progress from an AFC to a aspiring pua, also credible since it is the former best pickup artist) 48 Rules of Power - Robert Greene (I just bought this since i remember hearing the title in "the game" and it is a best seller book) Double your dating - David DeAngelo (Been a big name in the seduction community for a while. It's more so a way to change your personality to something that is more attractive to women - cocky funny) Mystery Method the Venusian arts - Mystery (A whole break down of the mystery method in words. The base of many pick up styles) As for the rest, i'm still in the process of reading them. But it's been recommended to read books on just personal matters as well so that you can become a better you. Things like this are: Comedy writing secrets - Walter Helizer Books relating to body language, cold reading - like palm reading and massage books. I hope this is enough help. Feel free to disagree or add any others as these are just the things i have taken in since my introduction in the pick up community. |

I'm new here too, but I've been trying to read as much as I can. The first thing I was told to do was read The Game by Neil Strauss, it puts it all in perspective. It's interesting to say the least. It doesn't teach you how to pick up girls, it has some routines etc, but it's more about the life and what it did to him and for him. The first real PUA book I read was the Venusian Arts Handbook. Really good. I haven't come across a book as good yet. The other thing I'd recommend is David DeAngelo's Double Your Dating. Those are the stand outs, and they really are stand outs. |

Unfortunately i am going to disagree with the above poster a lot. You don't want to read many books at all and rather go out and experiment. I strongly disagree with reading "The Game" - its a good story, nothing more! However, that aside there are a few books i recommend, definite must reads. Firstly - The Mystery Method - Mystery. This book has a good outline, good information and some look into the psychology of things. There is a big downside to this book though.... it is very easy to treat it as the bible of pick up. Everything you read you should take on, but rather than doing exactly what it says try to understand why it works and just take what works for you rather than following exactly. For example, the M3 model (a1-3, c1-3, s1-3) is good, but no social interaction can be that structured. As soon as you have finished the MM, read - The Secrets to the alpha man, Carlos Xuma. This book has everything you need to know about body language and all that sort of thing. I cannot stress just how important it is to have good non-verbal communication and the right attitude. This book is fantastic. The 3rd book to read at the start (so as soon as you have finished the other 2) is Conversational jujitsu, by Juggler. This is the best book for "outter" game. It will really help you get your conversation skills up. When you have finished those and had about a 1-2 months worth of going out and getting some results then you have one more book to read. I strongly suggest you wait before reading this next book because if you read it before you have had 1-2 months of in field you wont gain as much from it. If you are really dedicated after your first months before reading the following, re-read the first 3. You will pick up things you missed the first time and actually be able to relate to the things in the books and gain a lot. The 4th book to read after you re-read the first 3 1-2months later is: The Attraction Code, Vin Dicarlo. This covers it all in a very natural way. It is an utterly amazing book. However to gain the most from it you need to have infield experience and have read the other 3. I cannot stress how good The Attraction Code is and how important it is you read the other 3 first and wait until you have 1-2 months of infield experience before reading it!! Even though I was a natural before I got into the community I read these 4 books, they are the only 4 I have read properly and they help you understand WHY PUA works rather than just parrot fashion learning lines. They helped me understand what I did as a natural and they also taught me a few new things, they are even better for AFC's. Every few months I find myself re-reading them and even though I have read each 4 times now I picked up a lot of new things on each read. I hope that helps and if you want more advice from myself or Living Attractions we have a "Ask Living Attractions" thread at the top of the newbie forum (link in my sig as well) Madals |
