Is this an IOI? You're talking to a girl and she suddenly calls you "love". Like: ME: Hey! HER: how are you? ME: Fine. And you? HER: Fine, love. |

I wouldn't call this an IOI really, I'd say it's just being polite. My reasoning for this is because for instance where I work I have to serve ladys like in their 50's on tills, and almost all of them call me love. But then again it could depend on the voice tonality with whom you are referring to here. |

I agree. It's like me, I call almost every woman that I'm familiar with "gorgeous." I wouldn't think too much about the word, think about the entire interaction. Medic: "Hey gorgeous, what's new?" |

You are looking way too close for IOI's. Verbal IOI's are obvious. "I like you." Statements that begin with "You are [Sexy, cute fun, easy to be with, hot]" Sometimes a girl will compliment you directly multiple times like this, but it is unlikely for you to be very successful if you are busy seeking reactions and looking for minute IOI's from her, a better more useful mindset is to simply assume that she is into you, and proceed from there. |

yup love, pet, petal, duck and a whole lot of other names are usually down to where someone is from rather than any sort of intention. For example I call everyone man or dude, even old women but do I think they are men or dudes? |
