So I just thought it would be interesting to hear some points of view. I have read before that certain colors invoke certain feelings (which leads to certain choices for people to paint rooms etc). Are there any colors clothing wise that attract more, or give you a better chance? I know I personally think I look good in greys, blacks and dark blues. I usually feel more confident then because I think I look good, so does that make those good colors, or just good colors for me, or neither? Any opinions? |

There is all that Peackhock theory.. But I think it's dumb. Wear whatever you like. And in the end.. Suiting up is the best thing to do [I wish to grow older just to suit up every day, and wear s suit-pajama] |

exactly! the suit is the best... if you don't like-have any suits, just choose very sharp clothes. i think the main color doesn't matter much as long as it fits with everything you wear... personnally i like different versions of skyblue. but everyone has its favorite colors and i suggest you wear yours to feel more confortable. |

by suit and looking sharp, i mean not looking like a homeless guy... my english is not perfect and i lack some vocabulary. suit may not be the right word, but dressing like a high value man, a person in charge of things always change the women's look at you right away. |

Its much more about what colours work with you (hair colour, skin tone etc) however red would be the obvious choice. As for suits, I think most of the time you cant wear a suit (at least at my age) without looking like an idiot. Turning up to a college party in a suit would get some very odd looks. However, the idea of looking good in the cloths is important, you want nicely fitted clean stylish clothes that fit with the area your in. |

Madals nailed it wear what suits you not what you think will elicit an emotional response, lets face it if there was a colour that made women horny or something wouldn't everyone wear it and it loose its effect. Although if you want to get geeky I did some research into matching frequencies on music to light frequencies etc and found absolutely nothing lol If someone with a bigger budget did some research I'm sure some colours and tones of notes can have an effect (b for example is the resonant frequency of a lot of things, which is great to know when a girl sits on your amp whilst you practice lol). |

Red does have connotations of danager/sex. It is an interesting discussion point because although its just a connotation there may be some fact to it. Red will get you noticed, you cant shrink away in red and therefore you are being bold by wearing it, you are telling the world "hey, look at me. If you dont like me i can take it" however, you have to be able to take it. Its a very simple peackocking theory, if you wear something stupid and get a guy or girl bust your balls about it and you are left crying, it isnt going to look good. If you wear it and take shit about it and come out on top, well then your gonna get really noticed. If you have ever been shopping with a women and seen something you saw a rockstar wearing etc and pointed out and heard "you couldnt pull it off" - this is the same idea. The most important thing to remember with clothing is that it can get you attention. However, attention doesnt mean attraction unless you make it that way. Standing out = risk. Risk + living (not getting AMOGed for example) = sexy, you are so strong (not just physical) that you can put yourself into the line of fire and still come out on top. Ofc thats reading into things a lot, first just get your style sorted in that it fits, looks clean/smart but also stylish and fashionable and in colours that match your skin/hair etc. |

Only thing that possibly makes sense out of this whole theory is the colors which attract immediate attention. Red, bright colors(orange yellow etc.) When you glance out say 50-75ft away what is going to draw your attention first, probably anybody wearing the colors mentioned above first then you'll acknowledge the rest. Pref. White looks clean on me. Something about wearing white just screams professional..I guess its about being clean if you can sport a bright white shirt and have no stains/marks on it. Speaks silently I guess? Good example as Madals said, pretty much sums it all up to the tee. |
