I've been looking around on this forum and it seems like the "friend zone" is a bad bad place and you are screwed if you get put in it. But i've read on some stuff by david d, swinggcat and mystery, and they say the opposite, especially david d. According to a lot of gurus, befriending a woman is one of the best things you can do to increase your chances with her.
I don't know what to believe :S What do you think?

There's a huge difference between befriending a woman and being in the "Friend Zone".

Befriending a woman is great, you need to make her feel comfortable around you. You want her to feel safe and to trust you. If she doesn't feel that then she won't want to be around you, and thus you'll never have a chance to get any further with her.

The "friend zone" is when you're no longer considered a potential suitor at all. She has no sexual interest in you whatsoever. Even though you may want to get with her, the feelings are not mutual and nothing will happen. ever. Once you're here, its near impossible to get out. On a few rare occasions it does happen, but its usually not worth the struggle.

According to the M3 model, one gets into the "friend zone" by either skipping attraction and going right to comfort, or by staying in comfort too long and not moving towards seduction. So from this, the "friend zone" is from a more extreme form of befriending a woman.

That being said, it is POSSIBLE to escape the friendzone, but it's unlikely and completely different in every scenario.
