Post subject:  Saying something AT SOMEONE or TO SOMEONE!

You can say something to/at someone, by saying words that are meant to be registered by a person (i.e. quiet, out of politness).

You can say something TO SOMEONE, by zooming in on that person and saying something WITH MEANING to THAT PERSON that you want the PERSON TO ACTIVLY HEAR (i.e. assertive, deserving attention, from the heart).

Try saying "You did a great job!" using the two methods and recognize the difference.

Do you know what I'm talking about here? Have you had the same experiences? I think this is very important in improving communication.

Instead of saying something your normal way no matter who is on the receiving end and what is happening, you say what you want in a way that you make sure the person is receiving your message.

definitely. as we all know, delivery is of utmost importance.

i see a lot of people i know that talk AT rather than TO people. they just assume that since they are making sound come out of their mouth other people are listening and give a shit. i can see people's eyes glaze over and sometimes they even get up and leave yet the storyteller keeps on chugging along like everyone is enthralled.

make sure your subject matter is relatable and say it in a manner that is exciting or intriguing. be PASSIONATE!
