2)The fact she closed me and didn't mention her bf till very late means that she is likely to cheat?
3)What should I do next- build comfort or tell her my attentions and let her reopen me one day when she is single.

Very often girls make up that they have a bf. That is one of their methods to frighten off unexperienced and indecisive seducers.
Too bad that you took her e-mail. You should have asked her for a cell phone number. Phone call is 100 times more effective than writing e-mail.

Probably you told something wrong and she wanted to get rid of you by making up a bf. Very often girls tell you "I have a bf" in order to test your persistence.
3) Write her e-mail and tell that you were in a hurry and forgot to ask her phone number. When you get her cell phone number you wait 2 or 3 days, give her a call and invite for a date.
