i need help within my group of close friends. It seems that every time we're together and i try to take the lead or be more confident, i get viciously shot down and/or no positive responses. for example, 5-6 of us decided to go see Movie A last weekend. The movie we wanted to go see was sold out. We were all standing around like tools outside the theater thinking about what to do next. I'm like let's go get some ice cream and food from the store next door and go see Movie A at the next showing (an hour from then). it ends up going something like this: girl1: noo im not in the mood for ice cream, its too cold for that (it was like 85 degrees) me: then you can watch the rest of us eat (jokingly) guy1: wow you're a douche girl1: yea you really are me: get a drink or something else then girl2: yea i don't really want to get ice cream me: they sell other things you know girl2: oh...i guess i'll go if you guys go guy2: no one wants to eat right now guy3: i kinda do me: me too. girl1: i don't guy1: i don't really either me: alright, how do you want to kill the next hour? girl2: let's not stand outside and be awkward guy1: idk what is there to do? guy2: no idea girl1: there's no where to go! girl2: just anywhere me: well we (me and guy3) are gonna go get icecream and chill in the store where there's ac guy3: actually i don't want to go if everyone else isn't going wtf. this is just one example. stuff like this happens all the time, even with little things. it's annyoing and it kills my confidence. how can i change their perspective of me? it isn't impossible because before, it was cyclical. sometimes i was the alphamale and everyone would want to hangout and do stuff with me. other times, not so much. |
