Awhile back I was with my brother and sister pumping gas, this conversation sparks up about girlfriend and boyfriend and whatnot. Well, I forgot who, asked would either one of us would tell a person that you liked them. I said it would be kind of weird, they asked how. I didn't know how to respond, I couldn't really explain it. lol But what do you guys/girls think about this, and how would you explain it to someone if you said it was weird? I'm thinking it's an AFC move, but I don't know. |

As long as you're confident when you say it, not dependant upon what they reply back AND you don't dwell on it very long, then it's ok. -If you say it in a manner that she thinks you are looking for her to say the same thing back, then it is bad. -If you talk about it a lot and don't just move onto talking about doing something soon, or a wide range of other topics (making sure that you don't seem like you are afraid of talking about the issue and avoiding it instead), then it is bad. The mindset should be, "I like you. If you like me, cool. If not, then whatever, not a big deal." |

I appreciate the quick reply, Rye. I forgot to add a few more things. How would it affect the relationship with the person you said it to? Could it destroy a friendship if he/she had no feelings for you? How about saying it to them through text, such as MySpace or text message? |

That's not a thing for a text message. I've done it via Myspace message though. It only affects the relationship if you appear as if it matters. |

Ok lets just clear things up, DONT EVER FUCKING SAY IT. Just trust me on this one. If you feel like saying it, what the hell you my as just tell them love her aswell, and that you want to make babies. Thats my rule # 1 Dont say 'i like you' I can them they're nice, tell them they're sexy, tell them they're a GODDESS, but i will never utter those words again. |

You actually tell a girl she's perfect? Now, THAT'S the phrase I was ALWAYS told to avoid like the plague. If you tell a girl that it leaves you absolutely nowhere to go. You tell her she's perfect, that's telling her she is the ultimate example of everything you could ever want. And then she knows she has you by the balls, she assumes she can treat you however and manipulate you into anything, and the mystery and surprise and challenge goes out the window and you become that AFC who just wants to please his goddess and keep her around. |

Yea, don't tell her that you like her! Some guy I've known for a long time has a good game. He just fucks up by telling his feelings (too soon). Then he places his feelings about it in his MSN name like; "Sharing your feelings too soon is bad I guess", atleast something like that AFC shit. And he does it every time! Woman are hard to understand for some(/a lot of) people and I almost got tricked by it and asked what the hell she wanted with me. Then she told me she liked me a lot, bla bla bla. So I got pretty lucky I guess, she could have just told me she didn't wanted a relationship etc etc. Be carefull sharing your feelings! |

Hey its my rule, leave it out. It makes sense to me, basically i can say anything except i like you, at any time. Tell you what, i'll change it (edit it) just to make everyone happy. |

it depends on the situation. if you do it expecting a response in return then its pointless. like rye said if u say it like its no big deal it doesn't hurt. right now im about the direct approach i like letting girls know that i like them by my actions and i like throwing little hints. i don't like making a girl guess for too long cuz they will move on if you don't make things clear. |

::Shrug:: Hey, if you've made it work for you, go for it. I wasn't yelling at your or pretending to be more experienced, I was actually hoping you'd explain your reasoning behind it and experience with it so I could perhaps understand better.

I did'nt feel like you was yelling at me. I dont go round telling girls they're perfect or what not. That was just an example. If i did, it would only be while joking with them or something like 'wow im from (city) too, you're perfect, we have so much in common, how long have you lived here'. I would'nt try that with a 9, but 6's or 7's i can be abit more direct. But i would never say to a girl 'we should get together' or 'i fancy you'. I made the mistake once with this by telling a girl i liked her. |

You can say anything you want, just as long as you go about it the right way. There are very very very very few exceptions to this rule. I've had a few things that I've told people not to say, then I find a way to go about saying it. I don't care what it is, whether you wanna tell her her face looks like a horse, she's fat, she is stupid, there's a way to say it, so get over your rules. |

I only made it my rule because the one time i did tell a girl i liked her she laughed in my face, i'd had this girl before but the problem was since then we had become best friends. Its a good thing though because of those words i discovered the community. Its just the way in which it was said. I know i could still say it, its just told myself i never would again, i feel like those words are cursed. I always say dont tell them you like them with words, tell them with a kiss. |
