So I was working my game on this girl who I was attracted to last night. I received multiple IOIs (got her laughing, she touched my hand, finger brush through hair, etc.) I'm about to move this girl somewhere else and she seems ready to commit to it. Then, this guy comes up to me, grabs me by the shirt and says "if I see you with her again, I'm going to introduce your face to the floor." This completely caught me off guard. This pissed me off not because he seemed threatening, but he ruined my set! I didn't want to cause any trouble or get myself an ass beating, so I just smiled, turned to the girl, and said "I'll leave you two alone." I left and continued on to new sets. For the rest of the night as I was talking to others, I noticed that she kept looking over once in a while to see what I was up to. We actually caught each other looking at one another one time. I winked at her from across the room and she smiled. Again though, this guy was the only thing that stopped me. Any advice? |

I'm 5'5 and 144 lbs and I've stood up to 6'2 or taller guys. Just about every guy I have ever dealt with is all talk - all threatening guys are insecure and once you destroy them socially in front of a beautiful woman and/or a group of people he will shy away when his inner fear begins to show; they won't beat you up if they know there is no social value in it or if they know people (girl especially) will look down on them for it. - Chris |

what would be a good response to this kind of threat that wouldn't lead to violence? |

Well if it seemed like you could take him just brush it off like "yeah whatever bud" and continue talking to the girl. |

How would this work? "I didn't know you owned her. You should be more careful with your 'property' " Not to sure about this one. The girl may end up getting mad at you for calling her property. Not quite sure how to say it with out implying that you think women are property. Maybe its not such a good idea. haha. |

If your in a club or bar, most likely the guy will never actually start beating you unless he is wasted, if anything he'll just say lets go outside to which u can refuse. I would have said something like,"Hey now big cat, i didn't see a sign on her" "Buddy, lets let her be the judge of who she wants to talk to." "Look! Free steak by the door!" "Hey man, relax, we know each other from kindergarden" (then start a roiutine joking with her) say to the girl,"and do you remember that time that *random name* the bully peed his pants in class?" "You dont want to eat me, i'm all grisel and tough to chew" etc. Try and make her laugh at your line thats making fun of him. Most likely he will keep up with the threats, but if u embarrass him enough he will back down. This is a good reason too to probably have some friends in the bar. |
