Guys ok so I'm still relatively new and I have been getting good feedback so I thought I'd post this one.

I met this girl Friday night at a bar, spoke to her for 10-15min (loud music, etc. so wasn't perfect setting). During the conversation she mentioned that she had just graduated and is looking for a particular job. Through my networks, I know someone that is looking to hire for that position. I know this is a little weak.. so at the end of the night, her friend comes over, and the girl tells me they are leaving. Anyway, I didn't make it to the comfort stage (probably cuz I had a few too many, WHICH i know is a NO-NO when sarging but I wasnt particulary sarging on this night), though we had some good rapport and im sure there was some type of attraction. So I thought instead of getting shot down by NOT getting her number, I did it on the pretense of possibly connecting her with this person thats looking to hire. She gave me her number.

So I didn't think anything of it to be honest, she was cute, but not amazing. I wasnt even sure if I had the right number to be honest. So I call yesterday evening, and it was the right number, and we spoke for 10-15min. It was a lot of fluff, as she seems very SHY, but she did mention some guy that was being very "NEEDY and CLINGY" the night I met her which is why she was in a bad mood when I met her. We spoke of the job again, and then she said she would email me her resume and I could look it over and then pass it along.

Anyway, she hasn't emailed me, and she may have forgotten or whatever or is fixing her resume up more... what am I doing wrong here? Because if I help her, she may just LJBF me. Though I AM HELPING her out, I think I have gone about it the wrong way that could sting me. Either way, I'm not too bothered about the job thing, it will actually look good on me if I do refer her along as my network contact will be happy that I have done so.

What would you guys have done differently? I know the drinking DEFIN DOES NOT help when picking up, as I'm not as fast as I would normally be.

Bad move with the job shit. She's going to look at you as a business contact and nothing more. Seems to me you were desperate and used this as a means to get the number instead of running solid game. If you had gotten IOIs from here during your initial convo, then you should have walked away with a day 2 and phone number in hand.

Keep practicing.

Haha.. I think you're right. Though I think my game was VERY off that night (due to the drinking / mood which prob brought out the AFC in me... which I'm learning is a killler. I have been trying to keep the drinking to a minimum lately). She could very well just see me as a business contact.

Though if thats the case, then why hasn't she sent me an email? I mean we had good rapport on the phone, and she's the one who offered to send me her resume and have me look at it.

who cares she is the one that needs the job right and i don't think you are going to get anything out of it. why are you so worried about her giving you the resume?

Im not worried about her giving me the resume, my point was that she hadn't sent it yet. I sent her a quick SMS this morning (no response), she was very reserved from the beginning, and I will use this as a learning experience. Drinking and picking up DEFIN don't mix and jus those few extra drinks can make the difference between a solid close and a weak close... I was clearly on the latter. I don't care, she's the one looking for the job, though I did give her the company name, so I'll be surprised if she tries to go around me and apply...

Anyway, I don't plan to contact her again, obviously! Live and learn baby, besides I've got a nice one lined up for tomorrow night :)

Just to add to this, I forgot to even FOLLOW my own rule. Though, this was likely lost, I should have called her to followup as opposed to sending her the SMS text. ONLY USE TEXT/SMS once you have established VERY GOOD RAPPORT, otherwise stick to phone, because it is toooo easy for someone to NOT respond to text message.
