Post subject:  Anxiety got the best of me my first night out. Advice?

(Written Saturday April 5th, but didn't get a chance to post it right away... So I'm posting it now.)

Alright, the first time I had even heard about PUA was this past sunday (mar 30) and it completely intrigued me. For the past 6 days i've been reading absolutely everything I could find on the subject. Clearly reading isn't enough... Friday night I went out to a club called Tryst... 75% of the girls are HB7.5 at least, so its not too bad. I feel like a million dollars, rdy to get in and become a new person... Only to find that, as soon as I get inside, I'm rdy to sh*t myself because I forgot everything I've learned. I completely freeze up like Kosmo. I'm not exactly sure what happened, but I couldn't approach a single set. I went from a confident TD-wannabe to a little bitch almost as bad as Spoon (without the crying). I don't really know how to overcome my anxiety, but it got the best if me last night.

I've travelled all around North America and Toronto (my home city) seems to be the hardest place for me to talk to girls :?

Maybe it's because I live here, who knows.

Anyways, anyone have any tips on how to overcome the anxiety the first few times out?

You are probably gonna have to do some reading on NLP because it seems you lack inner game.

Practice Practice Practice!

Get used to talking to girls in everyday life like waiting in line, on a bus, etc.

You are gonna be turned down. Thats life but instead of treating it like defeat treat it like a learning experience.

A useful tip is the 3-second rule. You approach a girl within 3 seconds. Therefore you are unable to psych yourself out.

Stop thinking about it too much and make a move!

I just run w/ it. The worst crash-and-burns turn into hilarious stories if you share 'em w/ a good friend. Another way is Tyler Durden's way, I can't find the link but he posted on a site that he never thought of the outcome of his game. He said he just kept goin and goin and that if he opened the set he considered it a success and that everything else was just practice. I'll keep lookin for the link and if I find it I'll PM you.

Next time use some of the hundred openers you can find on this forum. No ones gonna reject an interesting question or statement. Just don't show sexual interest. You don't even have to follow up. Just get use to opening. Soon the fear will be gone and you can proceed.

Wire - Failure does not exist; only feedback. That is an incredible NLP mindset right there and it will alleviate all of your fears in life.

It is all about inner game and belief.

I understand the hometown thing, yo are more relaxed when no one you know is around to see you should you fail. But you need to stop worrying about that, how many million people are there in Toronto alone you are really unlikely to bump into ny1 u know.
