i often find myself in the situation when a girl says something about a guy around or a guy she met recently that he`s cute, so charming, so pretty etc. why should this even interest me? why she tells me this? i dont bloody care. is this a sign that i`ve been a too nice guy with him? i dont know. but i never seem to find a good answer to them and that sucks. it kinda makes me feel that i have no chance to be those cool guys who atract the girls i like. how should i react when a girl starts speaking about this? i dont want to be the cool guy, no way, but it just makes me feel that i am less atractive and have less chance with her.

that is the most usual shit test i get,dont give any importance in most cases she is only shit testing you to see your reactions and or making you jeleous.
say her how much you would like to see her with him and thinks like that.

Yea, that's how I would play it. Just talk him up so much that he actually falls short. You could even throw in a false-disqualifier. Also, what I like to do is to befriend the guy, if she likes him he's probly in a good crowd so it opens up your network.

She could be either:

A) testing to see how you react. This could be tricky and really depends on the girl on how to handle it. Some girls might be using it as a round about way to see if you like her. In confident girls its a test and the best thing to do is to act like its of little importance to you.

B) subtle way of showing that you are a friend. Ouch, Sad but true. If a girl is really into a guy she usually tries not to bring up guys she is interested in.

I'd respond honestly with a funny but cocky "And I care about this why?"

It doesn't matter if I'm gaming a girl or just talking to some girl, why the hell do I care how cute some other douche bag is?

Call her bullshit test. Whether she knows it or not, she thinks she can get away with using you to just tell all her crap to. That's not my game. Tell me something interesting or I'm rolling on to the next set, girl, opportunity.

This is quite true. Unless the girl is a real party-girl, she would be careful about bring up other guys if she's into *you*.

As a side-note that may help some people, this is a clear *ALARM* early in a relationship (way after or without the pickup).

i pretty much agree with Killians said..
if it is A... a good response could be [in a sort of stereotypical "gay" voice or girl voice]-- "You're right!.. he is pretty cute. Do you think I should ask him out?!"
