Hi guys, I'm pretty new to the forum so hi, and thanks for having me. So I've been going over quite a bit of the PUA lit and I notice that a lot of it seems to be based around US/UK cultural norms. Things that I see and nod my head to thinking 'I could do that' in a country where I speak the language, don't make sense to me as a foreigner. For instance the 'stop and talk to someone' 'say hi' thing gets killed if someone does not speak your language. Here in Czech republic just walking up to someone in the supermarket and giving them a Hi does not work well. In the UK though I never had a problem. I've even tried the smile to break the ice before language gets in the way; here in CZ a smile is usually met with a raised eyebrow. One thing I have also noticed is FUCKING SMARTPHONES. The women here are addicted, glued to them. Fast walking, heels clicking, hair pulled back in a ponytail, bitch face and on a smartphone, eyes down with an air of busyness. no IOA at all. How to break that? Double bonus: The smartphone/headphone combo. I see that a lot. So this might come across as a negative/give up/AFC kind of a post but actually I'm just trying to figure out if anyone has any 'your living in someone elses country' PUA advice plus how to break through the smartphone/fuck off persona....and any Czech republic advice would be nice. Sure here its easy to go to a bar and give it a whirl, but without a wing I find it shitty, and I don't have many friends here. |

I don't get this. You don't speak the language or what?Quote:

Yea, don't rely on "IOA's" and just assume you're making her day better by talking to her.Quote: Double bonus: The smartphone/headphone combo. I see that a lot.
Not everyone is in the mood for having a chat. That said you can still gesture she remove the headphones and go from there.Quote:

Look man I've been to plenty of countries where I didn't speak the language. I just learned a few words/phrases. Mostly "I have a big dick" or "You're cute". Other than that English works perfectly well.
