Has anyone else had this happen? I don't know if it's age or what, but I used to be unable to go a week before I'd wake up and be unable to control myself from masturbating. But... well let's preface it with this: I've had trouble getting/keeping erections during sex pretty much forever. Even when I was a teenager the first two times I tried to have sex I couldn't really get it up. I wrote it off to awkward situations, and for various reasons didn't date at all for over a decade. (Basically, wish I'd heard about pickup decades ago... but it didn't even exist then so...) Anyway that's the basic problem. Last year I had just finished some therapy to deal with the psychological issues I thought were causing my problem and had decided to hire an escort while I was in a different city to test it out. I hadn't jerked off for a week before seeing her in preparation, but still couldn't get hard. So I decided to continue with nofap and when I reached the one month mark... I basically felt like I had no libido at all. Instead of getting energized and wanting women more I just felt more like not bothering and giving up. I basically found the thought of living that way too depressing and forced myself to jerk off which kind of rekindled things. This year, well I found a local escort I like and I've seen her a couple times. The very first time I saw her I managed it... but the few times since I was back to not getting hard enough to start, or not being able to keep it going if I did. I was trying various things (exercise, cialis, herbal supplements to boost testosterone, meditation to kill the anxiety, a week of nofap) but each of the times one of those things was missing from the equation. So last time I made sure I'd done everything... and no hard on. So I decided to just keep nofap going again... two weeks in, felt a complete lack of interest in sex again. So after that entirely-too-long story... has anyone else had a loss of libido from nofap? |

yes, I think nofap is to help stop porn addiction. thats it. Though it seems you may have a mind over matter problem. You may think its because of nofap but it may be really from the emotion you got from being a teenager that keep coming up when about to do the deed. Letting go of that thought should fix it. Also try not fapping for a week, then do it (if you cant get a girl to help you out) and see escort within 2 days. I bet it will be back to normal. Once its all good again try see what happens when abstaining for a week. |

Maybe try fapping once a day except on days you have specific plans with a specific girl? |

I've found that you will get stronger boners...very randomly...once stopping lol. I've found it improves my ability but also I couldn't resist doing it for too long. |

No libido is to be expected for a while...even 2 years for some people, so I read. www.rebootnation.org may wanna look. All that porn invading your brain over years, isn't going to be healed all at once. Just like it took a long time to desensitize you, it'll take time to re-sensitize you. The good news is - your original libido will return, guarenteed. But even if you have to wait a long time, stay strong - literally there's no other way around it. I take up religion. Put an icon above your computer screen to make sure you won't start looking at anything wrong. You will be ashamed to pull anything up. |

Lack of interest in sex or lack of interest in masturbating? There's a difference... have you been with a girl since you've stopped? |

It seems to be purely a psychological problem. When you are psychologically tensed, your whole body also tense and muscles. The penis can be erect only when you are psychologically relaxed. The fap or no fap has no effect in your particular case on your ability to erect when you are with a woman. If I was you, I would be looking into ways to learn how to relax in various different situations because I believe the problem is deeper and not just in the sexual area. Do you have normal erections when you are watching porn by yourself? But... well let's preface it with this: I've had trouble getting/keeping erections during sex pretty much forever. So after that entirely-too-long story... has anyone else had a loss of libido from nofap? Coincidentally I put myself in a period of no ejaculation for few months at the time I was not dating anyone. I had normal erections throughout most of this period, however during a period of high stress, anxiety and not feeling well I found myself not able to maintain erections and was worried about having a problem with this as well as worried I had more serious illnesses because of neurological symptoms. Then after a relaxing long summer beach holiday back at home, enjoying the sun and pursuing women, my body and mind returned back to normal. Remove the worry and heal your wounds and it will become better. |

Both really... I've tried to be with an escort after a week each time, with no success. |

That's the thing, I used to put it down to anxiety... but I was feeling pretty relaxed last time. Same thing last year I was feeling relaxed. Not that I don't need to work on anxiety at all, but I don't think that's the problem at this point...

I had the problem even as a teenager though. And back in my day porn wasn't quite that easy to come by... had to download individual pics in pieces, then have software put it back together to get anything of the internet! It was easier to steal a playboy, just had to make sure you didn't get caught. So, basically I'm not sure "desensitization" was the problem... |

It's called a flatline. Your question is probably best directed to a dedicated forum though. |

Maybe... I didn't know those existed, and I know a bunch of people here do it so figured maybe someone would have some insight. Quote: Maybe porn was never the problem...
I never said it was... |

Yeah man, get it checked out or seek answers elsewhere. Sorry I can't be of help on this issue. |

It's cyclical - so you'll experience up's and down's in libido. The thing is, those up's will be way higher than you were used to in the past. |
