I was sitting at the bar and this girl asked me what I was drinking. We chit chatted but she kept turning the conversation to alcohol and our favorite types. She asked me what I wanted to drink and I thought fuck it I'll buy a round. We drank, she introduced me to her friends and asked me for if I wanted another shot. I teased and said I knew her type but sure let's take another shot. Obviously IIRC rule of thumb is to never buy a girl a drink. So when they subliminally ask for it what's the best way to handle it? |

I think you're looking way to deep into this. Usually girls will fuck off after you get them a drink if thats what theyre after, the fact she stayed and introduced you to her friends is a sign she was into you. What you experienced was meeting a nice girl in a bar and having a conversation. But to answer your question, I have no problem buying a girl a drink if I think she's legitimately interested, but I won't buy them all night, she has to pitch in every now and then. The rule of "never buy a girl a drink" is kinda old now. It's just a bit of an easy way to show youre not a tool. But in fact its perfectly socially acceptable to buy a girl a drink. If you're forcing drinks on her then thats becomes a problem. |

I don't buy drinks unless she's earned them.

I didnt read that she asked you for a drink. If a girl asks you what you want to drink just tell her. I have no idea why you dipped into your pockets for those questions. |

Never buy a girl a drink is not mandatory at all. With that said, is it possible to pickup girls without buying drinks? Absolutely. Are there situations where you should absolutely refuse to buy a drink? Yep. Guidelines are: 1: Don't buy a girl a drink as an introduction. It lumps you in with all the other lame ass's that buy them drinks trying to earn affection. It's lame. 2. I never buy a girl a drink unless I'm sure she's into me. And even then if she asks for a drink then that's a chance to tease her and make her work for my attention instead of me work for hers. So if you are flirting with a girl and she asks if you can buy her a drink you could go one route "I don't buy drinks for strangers, I'll buy you a round on our date later" or you could buy her one but make her do something for it like "Hmm, kiss my ring first" of course you say it very playfully. The main idea is to not be a lapdog or an open wallet and if you buy her a drink or two make a joke and get her to buy a round. |
